Interesting little unit. I can imagine a single fisherman or hunter hooking it up to their jeep and going deep off road boondocking! Two things the Geo Pro team might want to consider because of boondocking. Use a propane fridge instead of the battery sucking 110 via the inverter. Move the electric/solar controls inside for easy access. I'd hate to have to go out on a rainy day (or dark cold night) and have to pop the back open to check it.

All fair input I think! I had the same thoughts. We could also likely outfit this RV with a smaller 12v fridge pretty easily too!

Put a second solar panel on the rear door that's left in the up position most of the time and double the charging! I have wondered if they could wire the blower fan in the AC to 12vdc and leave the compressor on 120vac. This way you can use the blower for air flow when on battery power, especially when you don't have a seperate vent. Sweet trailer and even better walk through vid!

The issue with the inverter isn't that it's using more voltage, but that it's gonna drain power even when nothing's plugged up to it because of how the DC to AC conversion works and for that reason, you also lose some power in the conversion. . Sadly, there's not really a better way to go about doing converting between the 2...

I wish tear drop manufacturers would make wider options for people that need more sleeping space/own large dogs. Nucamp is the only company I know of that makes a wide king size bed option but you can’t convert into a couch because of very shallow under bed storage, and they also don’t have a well designed kitchen in my opinion. Vistabule is the best kitchen design (storage galore), plus all the customizable options they offer. Also I think any appliance should be optional not standard. I feel like most people who would buy a small tear drop probably have cooked a full meal on a fire ring grill in their life time, chances are we don’t need a fridge, microwave or even a tv. Keep the tv mount and hookup but don’t include the tv.

really tough call between the Jayco, Flagstaff and Rockwood "12s". I think Jayco are the odd man out because of that rear kitchen - not a full sized fridge and no burners. The TV seems a little out of place on the back of the Jayco but I wouldn't know until I got to use it. Inverter being 100w on the Jayco and Rockwood and 1000w on the Flagstaff might be helpful to some as well. TOUGH call! Great little camper!!! That 110 fridge can be run off the inverter? Which I prefer vs a propane fridge running inside the wall. My only complaint is the placement of the thermostat I will most likely knock it off the wall in my sleep. I’d have to rig up a box around it lol 😝. One question looks like the bed feet are adjustable so you can use it as a twin or all the way out? So is this 50x74 fully deployed? Great video so far this is my favorite of this type as a lone camper this would be perfect. Thanks!!
@JoshtheRVNerd3 жыл бұрын
I need to hard-verify if the fridge can run off the inverter, but 99% sure it does. Rockwood doesn't usually run their fridges to the inverter system, but I believe this model is one of those rare exceptions. It's such a one-off our team will need to verify for you. I don't want to just "be sure" when money is on the line! The thermostat feedback is fair. I kinda thought the same thing when lying in there. 50" x 74" is about right. The base just sort slides open/closed so you could open it only partially, but the "back" cushion on the sofa that's used to form the base bedding has a fabric hinge hooking the two parts together, so only using it partially doesn't really work. That being said... it really takes no more time to open the bed partially or fully

James, I have a 2019 12SRK that I bought in April of 2019. Between last year and this year I have had 70 nights in it from powered sites to dry camping. I think I get why the thermostat is placed where it is in the 2021. My Geo Pro had the thermostat placed on the same wall but it's about 3/4 the way up the wall. What I have experienced with the furnace it that by the time the heat gets to my thermostat the trailer is over what I set it for which is about 72 degrees but it will get up to 78 to 80 degrees before it shuts down. I think with the lower placement of the 2021 thermostat you will have better control of the heat as the heat does travel lower to the floor because the the furnace placement. Just my opinion. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Perhaps there is just something wrong with ours. I have seen you demonstrate it in your videos, therefore, I knew it could be done more easily than what we are struggling with. We have done EVERYTHING to try to get the wheel to swivel. As soon as we give it a push, the wheel turns completely sideways and will NOT budge out of that sideways position. We've tried 2 people in back, 2 people in front, etc. Do we perhaps need to jack the front even higher, to take weight off the front and put more weight on the back? It's not really an absolute terrible price for it being 12v. It would drastically save the batteries. What some people don't take into account for is the tremendous amount of power that the inverters draw by themselves. And 100watt solar is only a trickle charge. How much you have to pay for one of this?

We don't have one on hand and haven't for a while so I don't have a good frame of reference on these to give you a general idea. "Mid teens" if I had to guess? Our team at 800-256-5196 could work on a better answer for you if needed

So that’s something that hasn’t been super clear. Once I heard they were cancelling this “12” Now i see it looks like it’s reinstated but might just on pause while they catch up on other orders

Microwaves in a off grid type trailer makes no sense to me.

I actually don't disagree, but a lot of people still park camp so I guess it works? It does feel like maybe just some cabinet storage would've worked there as well.

Not lovin' the outside kitchen on this one. Nope. Just looks like a really bad design. Don't like the size of the fridge; don't like having the entire right hand side taken up by a fridge and a microwave on such a tiny camper. Don't like the 'medicine cabinet' with the mirror which is unnecessary. I think they started with the right idea, but then they got sucked back into making an camper that is too much like one of their big RVs. Raise the counter by about 3 inches, remove the cooktop stove for more counter space and just have a pull out drawer where one can store his/her own camp stove under the counter, shorten the fridge/cooler unit (do you really need a microwave?), then extend the counter the width of trailer, extend the top shelf the width of the trailer, maybe add a second shelf lower where one can store or hang their towels. I do wish manufacturers would try to be original and stop making cabinets inside campers look like the ones in a cheap apartment. It's a glamper....you don't need all that extra wood. How about folding doors and just drill a friggin' finger hole instead of adding cheap dang metal pulls.
