When Jeeps used to be Jeeps...I used to have a 1978 Jeep Cherokee Chief with a 360 V-8 and Quadratrac in 1986. It had 23,000 miles on it when I bought it for $5500! One night in the rain , I raced a 1985 Camaro on the freeway and left him behind!!! He was too afraid of losing traction. Those were the days!😁😁😁 I've been driving "Rubi", my 2004 Rubicon for ten years now. My first Jeep was the first four wheel drive Jeep ever....a 1942 Ford type military base. It had gun mounts in the back. Someone had put a1967 Buick V-6 and power steering unit in it from a Skylark! It had four gear shifts!...one for the overdrive unit mounted on the transfer case. It could do 60...if dared to!😂😂😂😂. I flipped it end over end several times one day trying to hurry back to my Pinto that died at an intersection. I still have the top of the windshield frame that it bent in the corner from the impact of ripping my face off. The moral to this story....don't be cheap with modifications, don't swap axles to the bottom of leaf springs...and put the shocks back on. 😀. Oh wait....don't be young and stupid!

Just in case you don not know. When the started dies and the parts house tells you, a) very hard to get have to order, b) what seems to be a high price for replacement. Ask for the same year or earlier ford v8 starter. Swap the nose cone off the old on and you are good to go. Only difference between ford and jeep starter is the threaded top hole on jeep nose cone. Amc/ jeep 6 cup starter is the Sam as well.

The jeep is looking way better. You can also bolt the 63 front end on yours too. You'll have to pretty up the metal behind your grill now because that will all be exposed. For sure my favorite front end though.
