I have owned many jeep's, from cj7's and 5's and a few YJ's. present day i drive a 1995 YJ Rio Grande daily. I have fought the faded fender flair issue on them all, and tried every tactic. Painting them never really last, it crack's, chips, flakes off, then it really looks bad. I have done the heat gun trick, propane torch works better and faster as long as you don't burn them. But the absolute best thing i have ever done is, leaving them on the jeep, bottle of rubbing alcohol and #000 steel wool. yes that takes a little elbow grease. you need rubber gloves because they will stain your hands black. But, they absolutely shine black like new without armor all.

i have a 98 jeep wrangler and was excited to try this product after watching this very compelling video. unfortunately, the product did not work at all. while applying the product the fenders instantly came to life ... however, the "shine" lasted less than a day. i was so bummed. if you read this and you do find something that effectively restores plastic, please let me know. tysm.
@AndysAutoCarePlus Жыл бұрын
It’s not made to add shine it’s made where you let soak in then wipe down. I have came across where people have painted them and then this product will not work on top of that.
@MichaelMahoney-y3u Жыл бұрын
@@AndysAutoCarePlus i didn't mean "shine" in that context ... i meant the product worked initially but for less than 24 hours. the fenders have never been painted and i did exactly as you instructed in your video. so i was just bummed that the plastic returned to its weathered state right away. again, this is my personal experience, so let me ask you this since i appreciate you responding to my comment ... is there another product that you can recommend? i'm willing to try a second option in lieu of painting them. much appreciated.

That ruins the plastics over time and dries them out. I know that is a popular thing to do but not good for it.
