Simply means that you will get one someday. I used to have a a 1994 Wrangler and there were certainly no luxuries in those Jeep...no a/c, zippered windows and all, but enjoyed it no the less. I grew up, owned multiple cars and SUVs and still loved those days of having a simple vehicle. Times have changed...I just purchased another a used Jeep as a second car but now more grown up...2013 Jeep Rubicon is such a contrast from my previous one, even have heated seats. Definitely a cool factor driving around the Jeep. I’m just now getting used the “Jeep wave” when other Jeep owners drive by and throw out the hand or peace sign. I never got that in my BMW even with the top down.

This video was extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing. I realize more than ever I am in love with the look of the Jeep because I dont go off-roading at all. I dont go camping or any serious outdoor activities. I think I probably got great gas mileage on my Liberty because I only drove it to work and back and just driving in the city. Didnt keep a lot of stuff in the trunk either. It makes no sense for me to like a Jeep Wrangler but I do and my Liberty served me well for 12 years. My dream car is a Wrangler Sahara.

07 JKU Sahara 3.8L 98K miles with a soft top, 3.5" lift with 35x12.5x20 E rated tires (I know, 20" is a no no. I didn't put them on her). Steel aftermarket front and rear bumpers with 9500# winch, and bumper mount spare tire carrier with full size spare. Pretty sure it still has the factory 4.10 gears (I intend to fix that). I've only had her for a couple of months and she got 13 MPG when I got her. I aired up the tires to 35psi and bought a SuperChips Flaspaq. The speedo had already been re-calibrated, so I flashed in the 87 octane tune and am now getting 16-16.5 calculated MPG. (Dash says 17.7-18.6)

I would like to add keeping up on the maintenance. A dirty air filter or M.A.S can really hurt your mileage. Also seafoam does a good job of cleaning injectors and fuel system. The spark plugs at around 90,000 or a good thing to do to. Thanks for the great video.

One of the benefits for the spare tire is when someone rear ends you. The spare acts like a boat bumper and prevents your body from being damaged. That's if they are not going to fast that is. I've been hit twice but at low speeds. No damage to my Wrangler. Their vehicle's front end were history, but I do understand about the weight and fuel economy. I just took out the rear seats so that's some weight off the Jeep.

Only filling up with Ethanol free gas was a big one for me, even without using my flashpaq tuner in tandum. While the cost is a little higher than using garbage gas, the extra 50 or so kms per fill up I get makes up for it, and the fact that it runs a lot better & cleaner is an even bigger advantage. Its easily the best "mod" I did. How you drive also plays a roll. I've never had a fuel efficient vehicle, but consistent throttle use, smooth acceleration, etc is just as helpful with a Jeep as it is on anything else.

If you’re going to spend let’s say $5000 on a wheel and tire package to lose some weight. It’s not worth it. Say you increase mpg of 10%. (Higher than realistic) If you’re spending $120 a month in gas, it will take over 17 years to just break even. So please think about this in marathon terms. Heavy duty bumpers, rock sliders and a winch will all more than out do whatever savings you have an expensive options to lighten your vehicle. If you want expensive bigger wheels and tires or any other options do it. 😇 But be a really rustic about the math. 😂
@off-roadingexplained8417
@off-roadingexplained8417 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I would say for those that can't re-gear , like those that might have a Cherokee Trailhawk like I do, if you want to get the correct "throttle feel" back , then choosing one of the tow or sport modes from a throttle controller will help the Jeep have the correct "feel".

@@i1-L22Belarus how?!? I actually would appreciate advise. I have a stick shift 2012 3.6, only mods intake and 33" wheels. If I drive like a granny with no ac I get 18.5. I don't think I have ever seen 19mpg

@@pietrorovelli9523 mine was automatic, but still drive like there's an egg under your foot and you don't want to crack it. For real it's all about easy throttling and being smart about hills. If you're going down hill gain a few mphour if you're going uphill hold the throttle steady and don't worry about losing a few mphour. It will all average out to the same amount of time spent driving but your mpgallons will increase. That and keep an eye on the computer calculation if you have it on the dash. That's all I can suggest.

@@i1-L22Belarus awesome. I want to buy a 2012 unlimited sport off a friend who's planning to trade for a truck. I feel that there wouldn't be a huge difference between 4 door and 2 door, it just depends on how you drive. When I finally get the car, I'd give your advice a try.

Keep tires we’ll inflated, if you’re driving around town, keep your tank 3/4 full instead of topped off, keep windows rolled up and rig surface clean for aerodynamics, aluminum or plastic parts instead of steel, engine tuned for efficiency.

My honest opinion is the trail dash 2 saved my 3.8. Completely changed it waiting till I can swap it to a hemi but still needed a little boost because my spare tire is a solid 3-4” above my soft top and the wind kills me. Great video

2018 JK 2 door 315/70r17 mt's with soft top neasures 34", with hard top measures 33.5! Who knew, haven't regeared but thinking 4.56, doubt I ever go bigger in tires, 2" cheapo super lift springs and shocks basically, lot of hood flop especially driving into the wind, I'll look into latches, my JK has a built in eco mode, normal driving 75 max, mpg 16.5 avg, don't do much rock stuff but I'm new to the Jeep world, looking at a 4" complete super lift, I heard metal cloak was better, but the super lift is 1800 and a 2.5 metal cloak is 2500, so any thoughts on what I'm forgetting or never knew?

Interesting. Been looking at getting a used JL. But instead of raising it, like most do, I was wondering if lowering it a little (not low rider low), maybe a couple inches, to see if that helped with gas mileage. Don't plan on going off road, just thinking about every day economy and ride. Do you think that would help?

Great ideas brah. These vehicles are boxes on wheels & we all knew that when we bought it. I have a 3.5” lift, 35’s, light bar, winch, steel bumpers & side steps. The only mod I did engine wise was a green air filter. I don’t “step” on it much & I range from 17-20.4 mpg’s on h-way, city is still in the teens. All that depends on summer/winter gas blends. Weight is the villain of the wrangler & I say if it doesn’t benefit the Jeep off road then don’t buy it, even if it may look cool. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
