First three upgrades should be getting locking lug nuts (if yours didn't come with them), a locking gas cap, and locking hood latches. Unless your jeep only ever goes from garage to trailer to trail, you should make sure that nobody is going to easily steal your tires, syphon your gas, or mess with your engine. Quite frankly, it is ridiculous that these things do not come off the assembly line with these problems fixed. These are also very easy things to do that won't cost a lot of money.
@Built2Wander2 жыл бұрын
Great point. Though these things don’t increase offroad capability, which is what we were focused on with this build. I like those suggestions though!

It's amazing how jeep hits us over the head with their prices..still have to pay extra for safety equipment for instance but we keep buying them so I guess we deserve it. Lol

Should have saved this video to come out on April 1st because this has got to be a joke. I’ve never seen anyone refer to $10,000 in upgrades (not counting install costs) as a “budget” build in my life. Most people who are thinking about a budget would spend what y’all spent in upgrades for their entire rig! A budget build would have been to throw on a set of 35s (I got my 5 35” Kenda Klevers for $800), a 2” budget boost and a winch all for around $1,700 or less.

A lot of folks will make these upgrades over time. The main point was that you can do a lot with factory components such as wheels, bumpers, axles, etc. and still maximize offroad capability. It’s not bottom dollar by any means but still much more feasible than replacing everything with aftermarket components.

Anti rock is just a weak sway bar. I believe the stock Rubicon sway bar is actually torsionally stronger than the standard bar and since has less flex locked than other Jeeps and well can unlock when needed. There are pneumatic kits for it to make it stronger when unlocking and not have any electronics. . When lifting the truck 6.5” sway bar strength becomes even more important.

I have the same Jeep, Sarge green 392. Those stock wheels are 7.5 wide and the Nitto tire you are running is only approved for 8 inch. I won't get into the statement that it is your daily driver while running beadlocks. Sure a lot do it but you should add a disclaimer. Your lower control arm shows a rub spot and I don't know anyone that can run that wheel without rubbing even a true 35. The backspacing isn't enough. This is in no way a budget build but certainly not what could have easily been a 20k build.

Everyone’s budget is different, and we get that. The point wasn’t that this is the cheapest way to build a Jeep, but rather that if you focus on Lift, Oversized Tires, and the right accessories, you can make major improvements to the offroad capability of your Rubicon. We definitely appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!

I am in the market for a lift. A shop told me that, "Johnny joints don’t tend to last too long on road also start to squeak within the first 5k miles." Have you experienced this with your jeep?

I am sorry to say that "on a budget" is very misleading and I would recommend an estimated cost (with an "at the time this was published" as a reference since prices change over time) so that people don't have to internet search all the prices without install cost and realize this was somewhat futile and out of their "on a budget" more affordable budget. This looks almost more like something to aspire to rather than a foot in the door setup. Interesting nonetheless but some transparency would be appreciated.

Budget is subjective to each individual’s situation. We didn’t claim this to be the cheapest build. But it is certainly more budget friendly than going full bore and swapping out axles, wheels, bumpers, lighting, etc. There are definitely cheaper upgrades but the main point we wanted to drive across was that with some level of “lift”, oversized tires, and the right accessories you can drastically improve the offroad capability of the Wrangler Rubicon.
@Andrew-us2fk2 жыл бұрын
@@Built2Wander lol I don't care that you spend a bunch. Lord knows I'm guilty of it on my truck. I was just saying this isn't budget. If you got it spend it just think the title was misleading for some.

Yeah the title "Budget" is misleading. If you can afford a standard Rubicon, you can afford premium upgrades let alone a 392?
@Built2Wander2 жыл бұрын
@@Airkoay Everyone's budget varies. The point we really wanted to make was that starting with a Rubicon, you can add major improvements to off-road capability without swapping out axles, wheels, bumpers, lighting, etc. These areas add a significant amount of cost to the build.
@Airkoay2 жыл бұрын
@@Built2Wander I agree everyone has different approach to budget, based on what they can afford. I think most average consumer would agree (as most commented below) the parts selected are more premium than budget boost? For instance, a budget brand to me would be like Rough Country? No hate brother, still love the built. I have a JLU Rubi myself (non 392) and would prefer premium upgrades.
@Built2Wander2 жыл бұрын
@@Airkoay forsure - you make a very valid/fair point. I agree that the title may be misleading, but if you watch the video I think we do a good job of identifying the areas that we feel are most important to upgrade first, rather than the specific brands you should upgrade those areas with. We went with premium brands, but there are definitely a lot of options to meet everyone’s individual budget requirements.
