Im going to be following this video and see if it solves my problem. However this is everything anyone could hope for in a fix it video!!! Great instructions from start to end. There are so, so many people that make supposed repair videos who should watch and learn how to make a repair video from you. Clear, concise, good camera work, and from the first step to the last. Great job!!!

I really appreciate the step-by-step process you used to clearly identify and access the parts to troubleshoot when the jeep won't turn over. Excellent. I have a 2006 Sport 6cyl manual transmission and the lights come on but no turn over unless I engage my clutch to *jump start*. I'm using your process to figure out why. Thank you.

I have a Jeep 2008 Wrangler six cylinder. My wife went out to start it one morning. The windshield wipers came on the dash lights all lit up but nothing. There was no sound from any part of the vehicle. So I bought a battery to replace the one in the vehicle, when I went to connect the battery the green wire burnt through all the way the horn came and there were sparks at the battery connection. That is I hooked up the positive and tried to connect the ground and that what I got, a burnt green wire, the horn and sparks at the ground on the battery? I have never seen anything like that before. I have only had this Jeep a short time and never owned a Jeep or a Chrysler vehicle.
@ForceBuilt Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. I actually have heard of something similar happening and it was also on an 2008 Wrangler. It was my nephews. He started it one morning and the horn came on and the windshield wipers and could not get them to shut off. We finally pulled the battery terminal and that reset it. He sold the Wrangler probably 6 months later and it never happened again. What I read about it was that it is the fuse box under the hood going bad and needs to be replaced sometimes. I don't know if that is your issue but that will be a starting point. Thanks for sharing!

Questions about the starter switch? Did this whole routine about 5 years ago solve the problem now doing the same thing .. no start inserted a screwdriver into the starter switch dashlights come on clicks but still no start could that starter switch went bad? Sounds normal feels normal... actuator pin good new key lock.
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
Starter switch could be bad, yes. Could be the solenoid on the starter also. If you are getting power to the relay when the ignition switch is turned to the crank position, (One side will have power all the time and the relay function terminal will only have power while engaging the ignition switch) it will likely be your starter solenoid. Start watching at 1:30 Don't hesitate to ask any further questions. I will get back to you when I can.

Hi there , just wondering, mine doesn’t start at all so I tried to start the car manually by pushing the car and put on the gear and it did not start the car then there was a problem with starter moto couple months back but I replaced the new one which was ok, now this… I don’t know if i have the same problem as yours… maybe I should do the same thing and see if that works…

Hi, I have a similar problem with my tj. My ignition coil went bad the other, I replaced it. Few days later the battery was dead. New battery was installed, now jeep won't start, battery is dead. I used my jumpstarter and turn on. That rules out my starter is bad. All grounds are tight. All it does is a clicking sound? Any thoughts? Thanks
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
So when you connect the jump start to the battery, the engine starts? If that is correct, it is still the battery. The problem is, sounds to me like something is draining the battery down all the way.

Awesome Job. The problem I have is that it will always start on the second try of the ignition and the clutch pedal depressed. But if I turn it off, it won't then even crank over. absolutely dead except the radio and other electrical appears to be working. My Jeep is a 2004 TJ, in really good shape. I would appreciate any ideas. Keep up the good work.
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Craig! Sorry you are having troubles. So it does crank sometimes which means it's not the actuator pin(unless the pin is just in the process of breaking completely). I would lean toward the clutch safety switch or the ignition switch that the actuator pin goes into. You can bypass your clutch safety switch as I did on my Jeep TJ(I don't have to be in it to start the engine). Here is a video how to. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2GTh2adoraSq68 I did this to mine because my clutch switch went out totally and my Jeep wouldn't do anything with the key. Hope this helps and please post back here to let me know what you find out! Thanks for commenting!

My 2004 TJ just died on my son as he was parking it. He reversed down the driveway, put it into 1st to pull forward to adjust, and it stalled out. When he tried to start it all we heard was a loud click. Hoping this video will help us figure it out

Hey, wanted to say this is a great video. Was wondering if you had any more advice. I changed my starter, battery, and ignition switch. Dash still lights up, but it doesn't even try to turn over, no crank. Where should I go from there? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
Is your actuator pin good? It goes into the ignition switch? Also, it could be you clutch safety switch. You can unplug it. Be careful because it will now crank while in gear without the clutch pressed.
@rickjuarbe82052 жыл бұрын
@Force Built actuator pin looks good. But i worked the ignition switch with the screwdriver and it didn't turn over. So I don't think it would be a bad pin because it is isolated at that point right?
@ForceBuilt Жыл бұрын
@@rickjuarbe8205 yes, that is correct. Have you bypassed the clutch safety switch? You can also take the relay out(like in the video). Bridge the connection and see if it cranks over.
@areafiveone547 Жыл бұрын
Hi! I just wanted to chime in because I’m having the same issue here and I’m exactly at this point. I’ve bypassed the safety switch I already jumped the signal on the relay and I’m having all these same symptoms. I don’t hear my fuel pump actuate and my starter does not engage.
@ForceBuilt Жыл бұрын
@@areafiveone547 so when you jump the signal the starter engages? If so, I would say either the actuator pin or the ignition switch that the pin goes into. Keep me posted!

So my TJ died while driving. When I turn the key so start. Lights come on, but it seems like it's in gear. Possible clutch safety?
@ForceBuilt9 ай бұрын
Not sure I understand what you mean by in gear? The starter doesn't engage when turning the ignition switch? The Clutch safety switch would not cause it to die while driving. The Crank position sensor(CPS) would however. Also the fuel pump or ECM could cause it to die while driving. Good luck!

Thanks so much for this! i have a 2006 Wrangler x 4.0L manual. have full battery power no crank at all. When it got to fall temps last year same thing happened, but after a few tries, it'd start. All summer no issues. So it gets cold again and boom, same issue. Was running fine last week, albeit a slow crank so thought it was starter..replaced starter today no luck, I did the clutch switch check and still no luck. You think it's the pin?
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
Probably not the pin. More likely the ignition switch that the pin goes into. I would trouble shoot like I explained in the video. Check your ground wires in the engine bay. No ground, no crank. Hope this helps!
@thuydinh24892 жыл бұрын
@@ForceBuilt thanks so much! I am admittedly not great (haven't worked w multimeters much) but will try it out! I haven't had time today yet. Out of curiosity what makes you think its not the pin? And when I turn ignition to 'on' should I be hearing fuel pump? I dont' hear anything other than one click. Thank you in advance for any ideas! (many are in this video)
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
@Thuy Dinh the pin whether in the summer or winter should not matter. It will be the ignition switch or the pin if you are not hearing the fuel pump, that still makes me think ignition switch but I could be wrong. Are your dash lights coming on when you roll the key over?
@thuydinh24892 жыл бұрын
@@ForceBuilt Yes, the dash lights come on when i turn on, all gauges move etc. I am not hearing a recognizable fuel pump sound. Late night at work yesterday so haven't been able to test yet. So thankful for your responses!
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
Ok, one more thing. The relay you see me pull under the hood in the video. It could be bad and that is a simple simple fix. The relay also could be affected by temperature I think.
