Jeep Wrangler V8 Swap 6.2L Gen-V LT with 10L90 10 Speed Automatic in MOBY - Better than 6.4L HEMI?

When it comes to V8 motor swaps in a Jeep, most people tend to think HEMI. And really, it makes sense being that they are in fact good engines, ones that put out a lot of power and let's face it, they're a part of the FCA family. In other words, they share the same DNA and therefore, should be a perfect match. But, there are other V8 options available and in my opinion, a few are an even better way to go. In fact, over the past 7 years, Cindy and I had been running a GM 6.2L LS under Moby's hood, our 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler and during that time, we racked up almost 100,000 miles on it. It was a great setup and one that we were really happy with but as Robbie from Motech reminded us, the LS was introduced well over 20 years ago and a lot has changed since then. Specifically, the LT Gen-V engine and 10L90 10-speed automatic transmission were introduced and together, they had a way of making the LS and HEMI feel old. Robbie told us about how he could use this technology to make Moby better than he was. Better, stronger, faster. And, before we knew it, we had left Moby behind for an extended stay at Motech. From what i have heard ( dont own one myself) so this is hear say but the hemi is much better for one reason,, ECM and electronic compatibility .. inauguration is much better and easier to maintain in the future .. yea i wrote this before i watched video lol and saw the fix for ecm.. and boy that dog is smart , what je is doing is one of the ways they test a dogs intelligence , and that fact that he knows that there is food inside and keeps at it and doesnt quit until he gets it says just how smart he really is.. thanks for the video buddy..

Hoping to pick my up form Robbie next week it’s been there a while but lots getting done put a L86 in it with 8 speed. Plan on adding a whipple supercharger awesome kit 200 more torque and hp with no mods to motor at all

We already had 5.38s in our PR60/PR80 back from when we were still running a 3.8L. We're happy with it but if you spend a lot of time on pavement, a taller gear would be the way to go.

I have a 2014 JK with stock engine. Was curious on the approx. cost of this swap? I have 119k on my engine and starting to have the rocker issue. Kinda ridiculous there wasnt a recall on that. My Friends 2013 started doing it at 30k.

Yeah, the 3.6L turned out not to be as good as we were hoping it would be. Cost for something like this depends on what you work with and what all you do with it. But, you're typically looking at about $25k

Moby have a nice engine and sound like have over 300 or 400 horse power and it will go every where smooth like butter that doesn’t matter where you drive it .
