I noticed the backwards muffler like someone else mentioned on the comments. And I heard the gurgling from the heater core. My Zj used to do the same thing until I blew off a heater core hose and had to replace them and bleed the air out of the system. The General looks great! Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to your next video.

Thanks for watching! I did some research, that model after market muffler can go either way. I'll be doing a coolant flush soon, hopefully it will cure the gurgle 😁

Sounds good keep dry from SoCal. Also use a piece of wood when hammering on pipe helps from damaging the walls. I’ve never been able to get rid of my ZJ from gurgling when you find a way let me know.

I parked mine on steep a hill facing upward and topped off the coolant to get my gurgle to go away. I could hear it mostly at start up. I guess air can get trapped in there and this is a way to "burp" the system.

Job well done. I've put 2 different Cat back Exhaust Systems in my XJ in 12 yr.'s deleted the Resonator. Wondering if having the Resonator would make the System last longer. The Resonator has been Deleted on that Jeep too. Seems to rot from the inside out right where the front pipe enters the Muffler. Next time i'm going with something Stainless or at least Aluminized. Any Shop would have sold you a Cat and never even tryed to save yours as you did. I am a retired Shipfitter/Welder who use to build Catamaran's and people Ferry's you have in New York City. Your Welding Skills are really not Bad. Steel Welding will come with time. Much of the Welding i did was Aluminum Mig. Heat Setting's on the Machine are a good welders Trick. Removing that Heat Shield was ridding yourself of a serious rattle in the future.

Dude ! ... I know I'll reach a ceiling with the quality of the welds ... But For 100 bucks... can't complain 1 bit. I'd say it's paid for its self already

Dan I have a exhaust pipe from a Wrangler, right before muffler. You have any use for it?

Great job! Couldn't help notice, when you were putting it all back together, the A-B stamping on the bottom of the muffler. I think who ever installed the muffler the first time, put it in backwards. A is usually towards the front, right? I wouldn't have noticed except I just did exhaust on my 95 XJ (new muffler and tail pipe plus converter delete). Or am I wrong? Always enjoy your content...

I looked it up.. That model after market muffler can be installed either way. It's marked by the 2 different direction arrows
