Finally met someone as anal as I am in detailing removed parts! Already did my shift panel on my 98 ZJ Limited, however going to remove it and color in the 'red' indicator, driving me nuts! Mothers is good stuff, also toothpaste works on plastic also, and smells good. ;) I had to remove my seats to clean all the original carpet, now re-finishing and re-painting the rusty seats/brackets. Oh, another thing, that rust you see on the metal dash frame when it's apart drove me nuts, so a little brush with some Ospho on it will turn it nice dark gray and black. Keep up the good video's!

@georgeplevritis51904 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan nice video, question since you have both an xj and zj, I just picked up another xj (2001) I totaled my last xj back in 2003, got rid of my zj about 6 years ago and man I feel like this xj rides like sh*t compared to the zj, I know it’s been some years now and maybe my memory isn’t that good anymore but do you feel the same?
@ProjectDanH4 жыл бұрын
Dude... The ZJ rides so smooth. There's something to be said about 4 coils all around at a stock ride height. Lol . for that reason The ZJ quickly became my daily. But then I jumped into my lifted XJ with the stiffer leaf springs and although it wasn't as smooth, it made me feel home again in a "real truck" and not a "car". 🤷♂️ Hope you understand my explanation. Lol

I added the memory mirror function to my Jeep and it is the biggest pain in the butt now. Everytime I unlock the doors the mirrors move. I have re-programmed them more times then I can count. I have check the forums for tips, but nothing useful. If you have any tips that would rock.
@ProjectDanH4 жыл бұрын
Silly question... Did you add memory mirrors too or just the switch pod? Check all your connects too. If your new memory switch pod in the door is not broken it's possible your replacement mirrors are either dirty or gummed up where the memory contacts are.. they could even be broken off in there too. You can try to open up the mirrors motors and see but you risk cracking your mirror. If you are willing to buy the new glass ahead of time you can attempt a good mirror overhaul. Good luck!
@henryv.32724 жыл бұрын
@@ProjectDanH Yeah, not my first rodeo. I replaced the mirror guts with "new" modules. The memory function does work, just not consistently. It is definitely a love hate relationship with this old Jeep. I still don't know why I still have it. At this point I have done way too many "upgrades" to sell it since most people will not understand what the benefits are.
@ProjectDanH4 жыл бұрын

@@ProjectDanH Well, if you or anyone is remotely interested I would be willing to part with her, as long as the person treats her right and understands what she is and isn't. It is not a hardcore wheeler, I have been updating it to be a daily driver. Briefly she is a California car with no rust. 4.0 2WD (I did not pick this, the jeep fell in my lap) I have a D44a LSD (3.73 ready to be installed at home. Upgraded charging system. 0 gauge wire ran to the rear for the amps, updated radio/speakers etc. All of the steering has been replaced with V8 components. WJ swap bar. New cooling system. Electric fan conversion. New 32" tires on JK 17's. And overall very well maintained, no oil leaks and I don't cheep out on the parts. The list goes on. IF, I do keep her I will be LS1 swapping and staying RWD, with street tires. If anyone is interested, feel free to message me and I can provide more details.
