its amazing how so many martial art schools, teach layer upon layer of shapes, it's big business to charge per technique. The beauty of JKD it teaches the 'truth' in combat and much more..Great lesson. Many Thanks.👍🏻

You need to provide new stuff in order to keep the student interested. But when you tell him, you need to repeat this hundreds thousands of times, most will give up. But there it's where the wheat from the chaff separates. Those who are willing, will achieve high skill and quality, those who need constantly new stuff to stay interested, those remain low quality.

Strangely not too many JKD schools teach finger jab...they all mention it, but (almost) never practice. Thanks for sharing!!

Nice ideas!It's real JKD,one technique you are able to use in different variations and everywhere.Even in nowadays popular Krav Maga you have to learn 290 techniques till black belt!

I would also use a half sprawl as well as a finger jab to the eye, they can take you down quick, and you if you don't know how to sprawl you dead meat. It needs to be backed up with the sprawl like you did

Can you believe I was talking texting a jkd guy on a comment page like this today .and he said the finger jab is too dangerous to try in case you miss where as a punch would have landed. You have to practise practise as a jkd man the eyes are the main target .

It’s a dangerous move, as if your opponent lower their heads, the fingers will landed on the forehead which will do more damage to the fingers even breaking them.

Bruce Lee's real favorite action ! FINGER JAB. And not pak sau as many Wing Chun teachers believe and falsely spread to their students. Another crazy thing they say is that Wing Chun made Bruce Lee famous, and not the other way around. What a mess...

Thomas, why is the finger jab not generally trained? They don’t train it in wing chun or karate or anything else

I struggle with accuracy. And why is the lead hand lowered after the finger jab? Also, double or repetitive finger jabs are emphasized in early junfan
@infectionsman
@infectionsman 4 жыл бұрын
Hang a piece of durable paper from the ceiling and draw a target on it. Practice accurate jabs while constantly moving around with good footwork and changing angles. You can use a ball on a string with a 2nd piece of string and a counter weight under it to stop it from shaking. This is better for angles than a flat piece of paper.
