Must be a "bit" tired...., going at it slightly less than a mur***ous , berzerker rage...,lol. But that dip/duck to a body punch if that really connected....,with the wicked torque, momentum forward and body weight turning into it with a nasty shovel hook or hook..., .... looks like a Tyson type of punch that would have separated his upper torso from his legs. Potentially pure savage.

Because you are tall, your legs are too long to fire out a side stop kick effectively. Bruce was short, so could fire out his side stop kick very quickly. And because he was lower down, he could hit shins and kneecaps easier.

Hello Thomas, Could you make a video about JKD against Boxing?
@SuperMaryu767
@SuperMaryu767 4 күн бұрын
@Jay-yj1il Basically keep the distance and kick below the waist since their focus is waist on up. Just like what Bruce said: "The best fighter is not a boxer, a karate or a judo man. The best fighter is someone who can adapt on any style. He kicks too good for a boxer, throws too good for a karate man and punches too good for a judo man."

I just realized you also did short clips. This is a genious idea and I‘m glad that there are people like you out there doing this and sharing all this wisdom. I have no clue how to text you personally but I‘d be interested, if Sifu Carruthers had a different opinion on something that Bruce taught. So is there a point where he would disagree with Bruce. That would be very interesting to know on which theory their views would collide due to experiencing maybe different things. Hope you could tell me. Thanks for all the insight in JKD.

Ramsey is to martial arts what Yogi bear is to actual bears. He's proven time and time again to be yet another Bruce Lee hater and I've chewed him out many times. I know I'm late on this vid, but you should look up the video of a green beret vs special forces in a real encounter. It is by far the best use of JKD I've seen to end the fight in seconds. Picture perfect eye jab interception and it was over as soon as it started.

These training shorts are really cool. How are you balancing training techniques with strength training/weight lifting?
@ThomasMarxJKD
@ThomasMarxJKD 7 күн бұрын
I do currently JKD 5-6 times a week, streng training 2 times - one of which is heavy, the other is isometrics, or rubber bands and such. Interwall-Running-sprinting 1 to 2 times a week.

@ThomasMarxJKD good stuff! Most of last year, I was doing weight training 5 times a week but realised I was not having enough time and energy to practice the JKD techniques. This year I want to focus more on JKD
@ThomasMarxJKD
@ThomasMarxJKD 7 күн бұрын
You dont need weight lifting that much. Even some pro body builders train max 3 times a week. Depends of how you are splitting your execises. If you do all muclse groups per session, twice a week is plenty.

The Wisdom for this JKD must be brave to come in up to grappling area. Remember Bruce Lee said: The filosofis of JKD is unlimited technic. Take it of the useful for development practice JKD because in this time the grappling tehnich is very important in MMA or street fighting, likes BBJ, Wrestling, Judo

Jesus Christ...., what did someone say about your family, dude?? LOL Don't murder your partner, you had Blood Rage in your eyes, bro, way to go all in ...,the only way that type of energy/intensity can transfer, without thinking, in a real street altercation when mortal health is on the line. Nobody expects a big guy to move like a rageful Mike Tyson....,that alone will shock & take a "would-be-attacker" by complete surprise.

Bruce still had many win chun techniques in his foundation. Such as the basics like : Con su qu, chi sao, lok sao huen sao, cow sau, gum sao, lop sau, pac sao, fox sao, kwon sao, biu sao and sol jee. I mean wing chun is 50% crane essentially and crane has his jkd kicks, he is foundationally using chi gerk and his learned traditional Tai gi juan Crane 24 and 48 posture kicks with his own streamlined techniques and personal impressions from fencing and western boxing positioning as well as Filipino arts. Tbh Bruce barely had to use wing chun but he used it all of the time.

@vikctorrkreedd6418 By 1970, Bruce stopped practicing wing chun. According to his personal training schedule that by 1965 onward he started to incorporate more boxing techniques and by 1970, there is nothing wing chun related. He practiced boxing, weightlifting, street techniques and basic kickboxing. There is no evidence that Bruce practiced Filipino arts, in fact someone asked Ted Wong in an interview if Bruce practiced Filipino arts and he said no. Also Bruce told Dan Inosanto that he thinks it looks good in movies but not good for the street. Bruce told William Cheung the reason why he is sticking with jkd instead of wing chun because it is more efficient then wing chun.

You’re a big dude. I don’t see you in too may self defense situations…. Your size alone would keep most people away. The little guy you train with should demo more of the moves. Bruce was a little guy at 5’7, 135 pounds…

@ I know when you’re a big , tall guy it’s hard to find people your sizes to train with. It’s not easy. I know you can’t control that. I was just saying though that many times cowardly attackers pick people out based on sizes.

either lefting the lead leg up or up to the right and away from the opponent coming kick, shorten the movement. since this technique is not moving but lifting a leg, the opponent kick brings him closer for a lead strike. this while the lead leg is descending. also while lifting and descending the leg, a powerful switch kick (with a lead round kick) can be executed. this a Thai boxing kick technique.
