Ok... Jeff Beck... amazing as always. David Gilmour... the reason I bought a guitar in the first place when I was a kid... AND Tal Wilkenfeld, even though you cant really hear her or see her genius bass playing in this particular video but my newest inspiration in that I switched to bass years ago,... ALL ON ONE STAGE... There aren't words to describe my feelings on this.

Well what can I say, I was there just a few rows from the front right in the middle with the best view you could have, and this really was a night to remember, jeff beck for me is the best guitarist around and gilmour a close second so, this was a real treat, I just think it is a shame that he wasnt playing at his best in the first half, in my opinion he ruined angel & cause weve ended as lovers my 2 faves, but the last 3 numbers jerusalem,hi ho & where were you in particular blew me away superb

The entire string section - shall we call it that - Beck, Gilmour and Tal truly inspiring and awesome in voice. Just breathe... So many musicians in this day and age - can play well - but loose themselves. It's the voice - the tone you deliver - married with the melody which presents one as unique, tells the story and keeps it real.

It may not be perfect but it is the two best guitarists on the planet, both still playing into their 70's, both British, playing the Royal Albert Hall . Only Beck can dress like a teenage rock star still, no doubt causing some to snicker - until they hear the power, majesty and beauty he coaxes out of a guitar like no one else ever has - he makes his strat sing like Pavarotti, cry, scream, squeal, whisper or spit out lightning runs over the heaviest music - yet still somehow sneaks some funk in there - all without a wasted note. So genuinely humble he is often not so good when you see him with another 'star' - like when he toured with Stevie Ray Vaughn - should have been incredible but especially when on stage together Beck holds back - he is surely aware of his capacity to go 'over the top' with virtuosity but never wants to upstage the other and so you miss the flashes of sheer genius he pulls out of no where when it's all up to him to carry the show. Thankfully I've seen him do that for an entire concert on a few occasions - playing so 'out of his mind' - nonstop - he'd bring up tears of joy - that anyone could possibly be so friggin good! I must say Mr. Gilmour has made me wonder if he is even some kind of super human - he never seems to play a note that is not perfectly chosen and expressed! Anyway, Jeff is a classic English gentleman, no matter how he dresses! We know they will both come to an end eventually but thankfully these two so clearly love making music, who knows how long they will treat our ears live. They both have catalogs of classics that will live on forever. Beck's new 'Loud Hailer' album is young, fresh, hot and as is common for him, totally unexpected!

It's said that Jeff was up for Sids spot when Sid fell away from Floyd, Daivid has always siad Jeff has always been an inspiration to him.. this is an amazing, iconic duet...both have forged what guitar playing is and creators of so many things used today, true innovators, I think most people know how luck they are to be able to see these talents.... just simply unbelieveable.

Italian next to me sked who the the old bloke was. I said "What, the roadie? It's Dave Gilmour ". And it was bliss; Beck always a generous host and no-one outplayed anyone - these men are mates ("The most consistently brilliant guitarist of the past 25 years" said DG of Beck in 1991. And Beck is even better now, (Ronnie Scott's gig confirms that). It was a privilege to be there; made me proud to be British!
