I see videos of insanely fast, clean shredders all the time. For 30 seconds I'm impressed, then I'm bored. What I never get tired of is guitar playing that tells a story and gives voice to some emotion. After 49 years of listening to David Gilmour, I still get blown away every time I hear him play.

I don’t want to turn this into a bash the rock star comment so I won’t use their names, but Beck blew them all away. His skill level and artistic skills were just so much more developed. He included pinch harmonics and the notes, feedback wise on his amp, to craft his phrases. I mean I still liked hearing several of the rock hits too but Beck took it to the next level. Gilmour was definitely an excellent artistic match with Beck skill wise and talent wise. Btw, Gilmour wasn’t at that concert I mentioned earlier. Hat’s off to these two ❗️
