@jye_246 ай бұрын
@@albuxtoni It's actually written about His old friend that was cheating on his Pregnant Girlfriend, "Don't be like the one who left behind his name, Cause they're waiting for you, like I waited for mine, And Nobody ever came"- This is referring to His Upbringing of Course but he's asking the Person to not be Like His Father. @@lukassolleder1493Jeff smacks the strings (knowing he's at full reverb) and creates the explosion by hitting them just above the pickup. Buckley flings his voice wild abandonment, teetering on chaotic breakdown, as if he almost looses control of it, but he's so well practiced, he still remains in control. When I hear people refer to the crap out today as genius, I get extremely annoyed. BUCKLEY was a special talent. No fear. Power. Melody. Gentleness. No words adequately describe. Why can’t we promote artists like this???
@gavinjohnstonmusic2 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking about this. Nothing out today comes close to this. It seems there’s hardly ever intricate songwriting in a song now
@socialops2 жыл бұрын
It's easier to make quick money writing a basic song with a clever line or two and a repeatable hook. It's always been that way. Masters of any craft are rarely understood except by those who practice the art, and their tastes for experimentation and challenging the consumer are inherently unpopular.

1.Scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs 2.Realize you don't have Jeff's vocal skills, and get depressed 3.Continue anyway 4.??? 5.Profit
@MrRafa19196 жыл бұрын
If I am not mistaken the scream at 6th minute is a chest mix to reach that D5. Not an easy thing to do and you need a great pair of pipes and very well trained voice. :)

Voracious Reader well said, he simply wasn’t afraid to take risks with his vocals and he seemingly always made it work.

Voracious Reader elastic vocal chords, eh? Wonder if the rest of him was very elastic... like me. I’m the real life equivalent of the mom from the Incredibles. lol

I don't know what to say, his voice is too good to be true, Jeff Buckley was too much for this world.

I listened to Grace last week. Amazing album throughout but it wasn’t perfect. Dream Brother is perfect. It stayed with me. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful music ever made.

I grew up in Memphis. The first time I heard Jeff was at local musician, Nick Redmond's apartment in Midtown Memphis. It was a block away from Jeff's North Rembert house. I'll always remember that night. It was like a scene out of a stoner coming of age movie. ...and this was the first song Nick played.
