You and Jonathan have been part of our morning prayer for a while now. My husband George and I would listen to you while drinking coffee- our morning routine. Sadly, it’s just me, but you have been with me during this grief journey. It gives me comfort to hear your message for I feel my George is sitting next to me drinking our coffee and receiving the words of God. You made a huge difference, and continue to make a difference in my spiritual like. May God bless you and all you do for His Glory

I’m so sorry for your loss 😢 my father passed away 1.5 years ago from cancer. My mother feels the same way as you’re describing your grief. I miss my dad terribly, but it is definitely a different hurt than the loss of a spouse. Please know he remains with you by your side and so does Jesus and Our Lady. I know it doesn’t always fill that physical hole, but Heaven becomes that much more real when we think about them being there already! The thought that my father has already seen his angel and Our Lady and the saints…and Jesus! When I ponder on that I get so excited for him my sadness goes away. We hope to unite with them again in our eternal home. I will remember you and your husband in prayer. 🙏🏻 May Christ pour His comfort and peace over you.

5:15 don't worry when you don't know how to pray. *Rom **8:26** Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. 27 And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.* just like Jesus *Heb 5:7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.*

I don't understand how the Evangelicals could possible be wrestling with the use of Scripture. Christ quoted Scripture constantly. He said that the Sadducees were in error because they didn't understand the Scripture. He said that some things needed to be done "so that Scripture might be fulfilled." He battled Satan during His temptation using Scripture. Dr Charles Stanley was a man of God and he taught out of his Bible every week.
@j.j.freeman9292 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Dr. Stanley lived, proclaimed and preached the Word of God. His entire life was scripture based and every one of his sermons was saturated, supported and sustained by, through and in the Word of God, the Bible alone.
@michaelniehaus3276 Жыл бұрын
@@j.j.freeman9292 how do you reconcile Jesus being the word of God, and yet only believing the word of God is Bible alone? Doesn’t that limit Jesus being with us the incarnate word, and why Jesus established apostolic fathers & faithfulness to the tradition of Israel as the two other parallel authorities that Scripture comes forth from? There’s scales on the eyes of those like Saul, the pre convert-apostle, who only look to Scripture as the sole authority of the Holy Spirit‘s work, because he proceeds from Jesus and the father, who are mysteriously making each of us infused into their Triune communion , & not just the written Scriptures in the hands of an individual, which is why we have relativism, and the chaos of no sustained unified voice as the people of God! We can’t become members of one another if there isn’t this organic unity of how Jesus is the living body of believers. That’s why the Eucharist is the source and summit of our unity. It totally belongs to the life of Jesus with us.

What is the difference between lectio divina and mental prayer?
@jenyoung2473 Жыл бұрын
I think lectio starts with a bible text and you go on from there . I think you can have mental prayer just from a conversation with God.but that's just my thought

In an argument..... is there salvation outside the Catholic Church? Im saying yes. Am told ExCathedra teaching from1500s says contrary. Gods Mercy prevails. The Magisterium says...?

Still praying like a protestant. No Hail Mary. No Our Father.
@southbug27 Жыл бұрын
Several of the mainline Protestant denominations don't hsve a church service without praying the Our Father. You do realize thst when the apostles asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, he taught them the Our Father? To refuse to pray the Our Father is to proudly disobey Jesus & act as if your opinion is more important than his.

Say ALL the PRAYERS. GOD LOVES US. HE LOVES TO HEAR FROM US.🏄♂️🤸🎶🎉👏🏻👏🏻💖🎁🔥❤️🕊
@KB_21616 ай бұрын
If God is all-powerful and he loves us, why does he not respond immediately to all our prayers? Here is the thing about unanswered prayers. Many have been granted before we make them because God has already given the one thing necessary, what we really need: time itself. Time is where God answers prayers even before they are asked.❤
