I’d love to know the full story as more has come out to this than meets the eye already. Neil Donnell has already said they were reaching out to him about replacing Jason in December of 2015, around the time the band’s induction into the Hall of Fame was confirmed

I miss Jeff. He definitely had a more dynamic stage presence and approach than Neil. (Sorry, just not a fan of Neil’s over singing).

I've seen Chicago with both Jeff and Neil. Sorry Jeff, Neil blows it away. Neil has such a beautiful solid voice.

I like Neil better with chicago than jeff. Maybe it was the fact jeff played bass that got him the job. Neil has a richer voice and more dynamics in my opinion
