Jeff Foster - 'Life Without A Centre' - Interview by Iain McNay
The simple and direct message of Life Without A Centre is this: 'There is only ever Oneness. And in Oneness, the dream of separation arises, the idea that you are a separate 'person in the world', with a heavy past and an uncertain future, somehow divided from everyone and everything else. And in this dream there can be great suffering, because to a separate person, life will never seem complete, and a longing for Home will pervade all action. What we are talking about here is the possibility of waking up from this dream. And it's an awakening that's simpler and gentler than you could ever imagine. This radical message lovingly allows all spiritual paths to have their place, whilst at the same time making them completely obsolete. And this may feel very threatening to a mind hooked on ideas of paths, processes and perfection. But in the presence of this revolutionary clarity, the endless seeking of the mind cannot last. And then, in the place of striving, suffering, and solidity, there is only ever lightness, love... and so much laughter. Some have called this 'spiritual awakening'. I call it Life Without A Centre.' I have a teacher that makes things so clear to me.A different friend shared this vid with me, isn't it difficult to discuss what you really want to say? Since no one really knows all we must share + search + understand it from our own perspective. This is why my New Path has taken sooo long to grasp this wonderful knowledge so New to me. Bless those that have the Patience to gudie + direct us or we would have gotten lost along the way for sure. :- ) I want to hear more of Jeff's words.

yea that makes sense now - i think i've been being alot more lately. i was really shy as a kid, but it was bad. i was addicted to video games and tried to avoid any emotionally stressful situation. i've pretty well gotten over that and am able to embrace moments without fear.

you do understand that its a state of BEING right. that really does mean there is nothing for you to do except be aware of what is unchangingly happening right this very moment. when you realise everything is fine and there is not a you there.... that is bliss

I think it can happen that, when there is no longer any emphasis on your "self", because the "self" is seen through, that emphasis of awareness and concern is lifted off. This can be very liberating, because it's like all of your own problems are seen in perspective as relatively petty. Now the emphasis is free to fall where there is relatively more suffering, and this is clearly seen as just as real as your own suffering. Also, when that suffering is felt, it feels pretty damn real.

i was also blessed, or cursed, with an incredible intellect. I seek so hard sometimes that i cant focus on my school work, which is whats important. and im only 17

do not forget: even trying to DO being... is doing. BEING, really means being that awareness which is aware of the very ATTEMPT at being. As awareness you really do not have preferences... suffering or bliss... awareness only is aware. If you still think you are this person, just realise awareness is identifying. Remain as that which is aware without preference. Even attempts at trying to BE are seen. That is true liberation

when 'you' are liberated. it is not the ego that is liberated. it is liberation from the ego meaning you wont feel like a person but vast space in which a spontaneous human experiences takes place. you will feel a connection with the human but it wont be your source of identification anymore. its just an expression of you - so if you want to be liberated. start by ignoring everything, everything. then what is left will be you. dont except anything to be left... except you.. as nothing

@mutageno yea it is. the desire to seek keeps striking me in the back tho, its hard to extricate.

yea, but im not sure if i want liberation? when i am liberated (who is liberated?) i can't really connect with anyone on a worldly level... i feel like im the only one.. it can be satisfying but sometimes not so much. these spiritual figures are surrounded with people who have read their books and so their minds are circled around the topic, making it easy for them to talk about what they love - being. but when everyone you know hasnt even heard about being, it can be a drag.

@mutageno hey lol wrote that a while ago - im fine. i understand what he means by true self. basically what he is saying is that we cant know ourselves, because who we are is formless and is one with this moment. hes basically teaching people to drop all self-seeking, then suffering just leaves

Fine until he said it was him suffering in Africa and Burma - no definitely not Jeff. I think this is a step far too far.
