Can so relate to that. Actual skateboarders know exactly what hes doing about. I lost that outlet like 7 years ago after 11 years of having it daily. My body, especially ankles and whole spine just couldn't take the impacts anymore, to the point just warming up trying to roll off a 4 foot ledge my ankles would give out completely and spine felt like it was electrocuting me on every drop. Now its just daily horrible pain without meds, yet when at my limit i still try to go skate for like 20min and pay the price for it an hour after. Worth it though. It was so damn hard having my body force me away from something i love. Much love to all skaters out there Rip brother

I can't say that skateboarding is my only release. But it's definitely the best one, Grosso is completely right. No matter how shit I am, no matter what's going through my life, no matter who I am around, or who's not around, stepping on the board, getting some air, is the thing that lets me live in the moment. Everything else is washed away, at least for that second. I can't, and I won't stop. 15 years on the grind.

What I can suggest that will comfort you on some level, that does when I can't skate, is to play skateboarding's video games. The og ones. Especially playing them smoothly, perfectly performed, picture perfect sessions, lines and gameplay. Not just button mashing. When you hit it perfect, you get some sort of the satisfaction as skating aesthetically good. Or even a fucking fingerboard next to your computer with a ledge or manual pad to get the grind. Skatevideos that you can relate to or be amazed by always helps too.
