freaky Friday That eagle couldn’t stand up for 3 months. That eagle would’ve spent it’s life suffering from the damage it had sustained, unable to move. That’s no way to live. And don’t ever doubt someone’s love if you don’t know them. Thankfully though, she did stand up and she did not need to be euthanised.

Euthanasia would have been the last resort...did you not understand that part when he said "there's a difference between rehab and torture"??? You don't let an animal suffer beyond what's reasonable if there's no chance they will recover enough to have some kind of quality of life. Any kind of quality of life. It was not only his decision to make. She was at a rehab center with several experts and veterinarians who loved her and also understand when the point of no return has been reached. Thankfully, Freedom made the choice to keep living and they did everything possible to keep her going. Get over yourself.

This is inspiring and warm. Another one of God's miracles.I find it wonderful to find people caring for injured animals and wildlife. I admire Jeff for his compassion and pray that his cancer will stay In remissom.It must be incredibly peaceful even spiritual being in that area of forest mountains and rivers.

My precious pets I've had over the years have often made the world disappear for me also; just one example....my dog 'Wooly' sat with me in an outdoor swing and didn't move for hours after my mom had passed away earlier that day. Thank God for them!

OMGosh, this story is so awesome. Came here after seeing the James Gunn article on how Peacemaker was done. Eagly is my favorite character on that show, next to Peacemaker himself. Love this story.

This really rings true. I'll never forget that at a really low point in my own life, I broke down and my dog, a black lab, literally climbed up on my lap and hugged me until I calmed down. He nearly suffocated me but I let him hang out there for a good ten minutes; we both knew I needed it. It's been years but to this day I've never experienced a stronger act of kindness and friendship, even from my human family.

that happened to me with my Havanese; I had broken down crying over a situation and was the first time she'd seen me cry. After that if I even just teared up watching a movie she'd come over and reach up for my face with this incredible concern in her eyes. She was the sweetest gentlest life I ever knew. I had her 15 years and though she's been gone for years I still think of her and miss her so much.

The description of that eagle "hug" at the end is just beautiful. A cross species friendship can be so profound. I see these other friendships between animals of different species, crows and cats, a horse and a dog etc ... and there's something so touching and wonderful in it.

Thank You!!! What a touching, beautiful story!!! I'm so happy you and this precious eagle are okay. You give meaning the words, "human being." My mom, 77, just received a clean bill of health after 6 months of grueling chemotherapy and radiation treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I applaud your courage as I do hers. I also appreciate your compassion for our animal companions, whom I love and honor as powerful spirit helpers and messengers but, especially for this little raptor. Eagles are divinely spiritual beings of light and incidentally, bald eagle is my sacred, birth totem animal. I have seen Eagle personally in my power animal meditations and have brought him up to the surface, holding him in my arms as we danced the Shaman's shape shifter's dance. I have seen him on a recent trip to Sedona, AZ, where he returned his affection and devotion, weaving the symbol; infinite 8 for my eyes to see shortly before disappearing into the sun's light. But, I have never physically touched an Eagle as you have in this video. To do so is my dream. Thank you, for this video, your story and for just being you... Namaste-

This story was published in Colorado's own RMSA (Rocky Mtn Society of Aviculture), and I tell you what, it's highly inspiring. I have a Senegal parrot that had his wing broke a few years before i rescued him, he can't fly and never will. But our bond is very tight, with the occassional bite LOL! He is my service animal, and he inpired me to live life ot the fullest no matter what. LOVE YA RODNEY, my baby boy. Jeff, you and Freedom are just plain amazing. I can tell you two are very close.
