My friend worked at Jeff Koons studio for few years. He only saw Jeff Koons once, he said, if my memory is right.

I suddenly remember my early childhood and am reminded of that kid who wasn’t very imaginative or fun to play with-a sort of Millhouse or Martin type shorty, to use a fittingly outdated reference- and then I see that this guy’s name is Jeff Koons and I’m like holy shit, that’s JEFF!

I heard: I, me, I, me, I, me, also I and me, mine, me, and me. I, me, I, me, I, me, also I and me.

“Objects are metaphors about people. It always turns out to be about others. It’s not about accepting that object, high low culture, it’s about the acceptance of others.” Never cease to amaze me how well this guy spins his obvious provocation on low attention span consumer sensuality to mean something deeper than it’s surface values. The man literally made porn as his collection of work at one point of his career. His contribution made art more of a joke and culturally inflated nonsense which ironically demonstrated from his inflated animal sculptures. It’s not about community at all, it’s just about the loads of money he can generate at the end. I’m embarrassed to see his work being showcased in such a large art outlet in 2024. People need to grow out of this art factory pop culture bs and move on to something more substantial.

His dumb art makes a living for hundreds of people that can work on these with passion instead of an office job or a hard blue collar uncreative work. People want to buy easy relatable art and it has always been the case : what can we do about it ? Go work and try to change this instead of whining under a youtube video please

Jeff Koons is an evangelist for marketing and consumer culture. A product of the American century and embraced by post-modern nihilism. Which is in itself fascinating and ironic he became one of the super rich. He speaks like a capitalism cult leader

@@raphaelgonzales3481 it’s an opinion - everybody has one like you. I’m just offering a critical discourse about how he positions his work in the social/cultural context, that’s all. If a comment annoys you so much then you can easily ignore it and move on. And all the best to the technical artists working with him, aesthetically I think they make for great looking interior pieces and a conversation starter.

@@raphaelgonzales3481 That’s great. Still assembly line garbage. If I’m buying a piece of art, I’d like it to actually be made by the artist.

I don’t think what he actually says is important at all - it’s more interesting to view Koons as an artist brainwashed by mass production and advertising. Like a kid raised by televised product marketing

I don't like much of his work but I will give his speaking voice credit, very soothing/asmreaque. The garden is very beautiful.

Ricorda più un'azienda che una bottega rinascimentale? Ma probabilmente è solo una questione di scala e di cambio di scena storico.
