The entire Jeff Loomis guitar clinic at Allans Billy Hyde, 27/09/12. Jeff was amazing. Special thanks to my bro who recorded it and also won the guitar raffle. Enjoy!

I have never seen/heard such a great guitarist like Jeff Loomis who performs his songs so perfectly like the studio record. I'd like to see him with Andy James on stage!!

Ok, the dude is a BADASS guitar player, he basically did everything on his solo albums, he plays piano, and now he can growl? I'm done.

thank you for uploading this! He pretty much says what I often see on youtube. Young guitarists who practice so hard to get some tight fast picking and sweep techniques and everything but kinda skipped the basic stuff like vibrato and bending technique. So kids, don't forget your vibrato technique, it's ultimately the most important solo technique.

WTF planet does this guy come from? Jeff Loomis is so fun to listen to. Even though he comes from the same sweeping "harmonic minor camp" that Yngwie does I still find Loomis much more interesting to listen to. I like Yngwie but find that you can take a solo out of one song and drop it into another song and it's hard to tell the difference much the way EVHs solos are interchangeable.

I got crushed when he said it takes years to get the vibrato right. I know it's tough and I'm working on it but years? C'mon. For real? I'm 37 and just started out. I'm not 5 anymore. I want it yesterday not in years lol

Practice your vibrato everyday. Make a tape with all your favorite player's vibrato and play along with them as a guide. Have a friend with good vibrato critique you. It should only take a few weeks if you do it like this.

I'm sure Jeff slays it with the ladies, but let's face it, that guitar has been "pick-up" deep in vojj, it's literally a health hazard. God bless America. Also, I have a hunch Jeff is Dimebags spawn...just a personal thought 0_o
@AirGuitar7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Dime is favorite guitarist followed closely by Jeff. Sweeps sound awesome but Dime proved that you don't need to be amazing at sweeping to sound amazing...his left hand was very strong (used more legato then alt picking everything) and so was his right hand. Both he and Jeff can/could shred insanely well, but i also admire them for their abilities to produce very soulful slow solos. Dime: Cemetery Gates intro solo, The Sleep, Floods, 10s. Jeff: Lachrymose, Destroyer of Dreams outro solo, Nuclear Justice intro solo, Sibylline Origin harmony solo. They are both my two most influential guitarists. I love Dime's ability to improvise and his use of pentatonic but making it more of his own sound (using notes outside of the scale). I love Jeff's ability to improvise and also his scale choices (harmonic minor, diminished, exotic scales; Japanese and Indian). Yeah, that's it...lol

Dude is so insane,check out his work with Keith Merrow, Love Sibylline Origin and Jato Unit so much man..... FUCKING shit Lucifer could not even keep him in his band, some men were black smiths, Loomis is a Lick Smith, he forges them from wood. Riff Raff MCGEE
