Yeah, just because someone is better than you doesn't mean you can't play well. Plus, these guys have had years of practice, so of course they're good. Just try harder, you only suck at guitar if you give up.

Love Keih and Jeff! Had the pleasure of witnessing Jeff play live with blood gushing from his forehead around 10 years ago @ a Sydney Nevermore concert. It was in a little pub, so the guys jumped off the stage and moshed with us, Jeff's head came in contact with someone elses. But he just kept on shredding without missing a beat!!!!

Keith Merrow, man. Jeff Loomis is an amazing shredder and very knowledgeable, but I feel like Keith is the gem in the band. When they stand side by side everyone just glues to Jeff and I feel bad. I've been following Keith for years on KZbin and to this day he is my absolute favorite Guitarist/Composer out there. I'm so glad he's getting his own signature Schecter Guitars because that, in a sense was an award for his vast amounts of effort and hard work. KEITH. FUCKING. ROCKS.

I am torn. To be honest, I am a classic metal guy. Think Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Primal Fear, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, and that vein of metal, where the song structure is 4/4 tempo, a slow intro, verse, chorus, solo, bridge, outro...you know what I mean. This is a whole new type of metal that I am having to get used to. I can't even tell you what the time signature is. Very melodic and very unorthodox rhythm patterns...I like it, and I love these two guitarist, but it's taking me a while to get with this style of metal. What I need to do is download it, burn it to a disk and put it in my car stereo so I can just let it sink into my fabric. Cause I want to be there!

Swamp ash is sort of a silly term. It's just ash of several types that's chosen for light density (white ash, green ash, european ash...). Fender started this nonsense taking a wood that costs almost nothing (ash) and upcharging for using it. That said, it has nothing to do with these guys. I never heard of either of these guys until yesterday, but they're both super cool dudes and the fact that they're using an off the rack model instead of using a ghost built guitar and sticking their fans with junk....that's super COOL.

I owned a 2004 Korean built Schecter C1-EA for about a year. It was AMAZING!! But I bought it with the intention of mellowing down and doing bluesy, country rock. Then I ran it thru my effects and it was a monster!! Problem was that it was a feedback nightmare, die to hollow body and there was a constant buzz in the saddle where the piezo was. I returned it, got a replacement...which had a crooked logo that wast was too close to the binding...returned that and got a third!!! Eventually returned that one and asked for a Hellraiser. At that point, there was none in the country!! So I settled for an LTD MH-1000 Deluxe. Not as good as the Schecter, but still a very nice, fast guitar. Now I want another Schecter!!
