I pitched in high school, was a senior last year. I absolutely wanted to be the ace and took pride in going deep into games. It’s becoming a lost art.

Roster construction could be mandated to change starting pitching usage. If teams could only carry 10 or 11 pitchers, they’d have to push their starters to go deeper in their games.

Love Passan. Can't believe the Dodgers are planning on starting Betts at SS and the Yankees, Judge in CF, again. Some games here and there, but not the entire season. And yeah, like I'm going to Vegas to watch bad baseball.

The "best" pitchers have always been starters. Until the age of "heat", most relievers were failed starters or junk pitchers. Unhittable sinkers could still be the rage.

Opening day...I want it to mean something, but it doesn't when there are 162 games. If baseball wishes to save itself from becoming less interesting than the NHL they will get down to 79 games. They need to make the game matter, and at present most of the game means nothing. Additionally, the game is less popular than post season NBA and the NFL off-season. Start games around early to mid May, and end in early September, otherwise the game will eventually become a thing of the past, nothing more than a memory, on the national stage.

@Chalk89Ай бұрын
@@20Schmidt of course they failed. They went out and spent $600M on two players, hundreds more on others and best they can do is one World Series appearance? That’s embarrassing.

I’m embarrassed to ask this….. but why is there no cap in baseball?
@hockeynutАй бұрын
Because the baseball players association doesn't want that. It would need to be collectively bargained with the owners. It's a nonstarter for the players association.

Love Passan coming on this show and saying with a straight face that the Otanj part of this federal investigation is actual a spec of what is going on and being looked at. This screamed damage control and I’m sad Dan let him get away with it.
@shep68Ай бұрын
Get away with what? He clearly said Otani makes it seem more salacious and big, but that storyline pales in comparison to the overarching federal investigation. Pretty straight forward comment. Why would Passan, DP or anyone in sports media care about damage control? This is great content for them.

Maybe you're just a hater....sorry. Plenty of other athletes and celebrities' have been swindled out of millions in the -past. Is it really out of the realm of possibility that his translator (who was really more of his personally assistant) would've had easy access to his bank account. I'm not say its impossible that Ohtain also bet on sports through an illegal bookie. But this pitchfork mentality across social media against Ohtani has been very jarring. Its almost like we love to build up idols just to tear them down. In American, its innocent until proven guilty. No reason to be this mad and really just a hater until all the facts come out.
