i've known about the record for a couple years, and i had tried giving it listens throughout those, certainly enjoying it while it was on, but i never could remember the majority of the songs after finishing the album. within the last few days though, there was the 10 year anniversary of "vacation" from his previous project, bomb the music industry!, (which i didn't even know he was a part of somehow because i'm stupid and only knew that they were an apparently cool pop punk band or something) so i listened to that for the first time and loved it. then i decided "hmm, i liked no dream a lot too, let me retry worry" and i suddenly am so unbelievably in love with this album that it almost makes me cry thinking about it. i'm a little bit lame, my bad, but yeah, this is a 10/10 album. also, the lyric "love is worry" on "...while you're alive" is a string of 3 words that i can't even find a way to explain the significance of. it's such an obvious truth, but i somehow never have thought about it that way. i usually hate when people say "love is..." statements, like i somehow found myself watching a bit of marvels' new loki series recently and they had a scene where they were doing that a bunch - it annoyed me quite a bit. however, my girlfriend has been really ill the last few days, and watching someone you care about so much be in pain as you struggle to try and do whatever you can to care for them truly reveals the reality of that lyric. i don't think any other example of a "love is" statement works more than "love is worry." that's how you know you have love for someone - you worry about them.

I’m 23 and I absolutely adore Jeff’s music and have related to many songs. Idk why people make comments like this when it’s just straight up wrong. I don’t know many my own age who like punk. There really isn’t any teenagers rocking out to new age punk. Jeff is new age punk.
@JustSeb825825_p4ssw0rd Жыл бұрын
@@BaronVonBielskii really don’t think you understand the progression of jeff’s career and the btmi story based off this comment. this comment is not about relating to the lyrics, its about how jeff has lived his life up until that point in the punk scene, and everything he’d gone through. he is literally the voice of the older generation of punks, because he speaks for all other punks who used to live like he did, and now are in a sort of limbo and are struggling and worried to get by and live in this world now. literally the entire point of the album, it’s for the older generation of punks. anyone can enjoy it of course, i’m 15 and I relate to a lot of what he says and he’s easily one of my favorite artists ever but you can’t say he isnt the voice of the older gen of punks because that what this record is about.
