@ sure he wasn’t a good number 1 but he was their only scorer, it’s prolly not a great example but I’m just saying some guys are able to go from a #1 to a #3 because they’re aware of the sacrifice to their game, and are willing to change for the betterment of the team. Beal is selfish in trying to be a scorer in a place where there’s already scorers
@tiers8077

@@Fymnuhuh3 Beal isnt selfish, hes just a scorer first. If you're a hooper then you know when he has the ball, the first thing that comes to his mind is whats the best place to score and not what the best play is. Its just hardwired into him since he averaged 30 as the number 1 option before.

Most people won't remember this but that was a shot from Kent Bazemore to Bradley Beal specifically... when he played with the Warriors he got into it with him because he made a joke online about Steph Curry going crazy the last game of the season to make him the league leading scorer. Bradley Beal playing for the wizards obviously one of the scoring title for his legacy, because besides being an All-Star he's not really playing for much else when he was in Washington. So they had a brief little Internet beef once he made that joke and he probably couldn't wait for this to happen to him in Phoenix so he can continue to take shots at Bradley Beal.

Yep I remember the presser Bazemore got onto him. I believe it was BB wife who said some shady stuff. But yeah, BB has played losing ball for all his career (except those years with John Wall in mid-2010’s), so any level of expectation is an issue for him.

The reason Beal struggles is because he doesn’t have any other skills besides scoring with ball in his hands. James Harden, Love, Bosh, Klay, etc all adjusted to their roles because they have other abilities that can help them on the court. Whether it’s playmaking, passing, off ball movement and shooting. Beal doesn’t have that if he doesn’t have the ball in his hands he is quite literally useless

I agree with that statement that 6th man is harder but also B hen had a great point. He should've thought of that before he agreed to go to Phoenix. It depends on what type of player you are and what position/style you play If its 3 stars that all like to dribble and iso score it's most likely not gonna work If it's 3 stars one likes to pass, one likes to score, one likes to catch and shoot it'll work Also a big 3 done well is getting a playmaking guard a SF that can play both ends and a Center that can Rebound and score/Defend well the reason these Big 3s be failing is because they all play the same position or style damn near and don't want or can't do much else

Being a great 3rd depends on the players skill set. If you a third option you better be able to play off the ball efficiently if youre not the point guard, or be a really great defender if u wanna succeed. Most of the players complement each other and come to terms with their role. White and Holiday are willing to guard multiple guys at their size, shoot when guys double Tatum and brown, and make the hustle plays that go unacknowledged and willing to put the ego aside for the good of winning. Same with Aaron Gordon. MPJ is more of a spot up shooter but him and Gordon going to play D and do the little stuff.

Beal was scoring so much cause he was the #1 option in Washington. Wall was hurt half the time and no one remembers the rest, Beal was out there doing whatever which is why he could’ve got traded before but claimed “I want to win here” so he could get the bag. Idk why anyone expected him to be great in phoenix. He’s a decent shooter but can’t defend and isn’t as diverse as booker. Knew that was a bad trade at jump. Teams should realize you can’t have 3 ball dominate players on one team for success. Idk if Beal can even be put as a spot up shooter at this point in his career.
@aboutmillions

It’s hard being a 3rd option when you play with guys that dominate the ball. IE: Luka, JH, Kyrie, LeBron, Booker, etc So it’s not surprise that Beal is struggling. He’s a rhythm player who can’t catch his rhythm cus the ball is sticking w KD & Booker lol same goes for Porzingis w Luka. Luka is a generational ball hog that only passes for assists. He made Porzingis look average then he left and won a chip w Boston because they MOVE THE BALL.

@@Vichinsky-ox8px it ain’t that easy lol. PG13 has never had a run in his career where he was a top 5 player. You can make that claim for players like Tmac, D-Rose and Grant Hill before the injuries hit them hard

A 3rd option wasnt even a thing till Boston 😂 Lebron thought that was cool and relegated Chris Bosch. 3rd options are irrelevant in the league

Bradley Beal was HIGHLY overrated. He was averaging 30 points on a team he never had anywhere near playoff contention in the eastern conference 😂

Reality is ideal of pg13… and his skillset differs from his production. Anybody knows who watch him every night knows he streaky as hell. No rim pressure and overrated defense

Could say the same about Porter with the Nuggets until recently. Knowing how to execute and make the most of your touches isn't an easy game to play.

Bradley Beal was absolutely empty calories on an awful team for YEARS. He wasn't a playmaker. He was one of the worst defenders in the history of the league. Stop trying to give too much credit to dudes who shoot the ball 20+ times and get less than 50 wins a season...

How did Kevin love become the third option? I was a kid back then , but looking back at it wasn’t he better than Kyrie? Arguably could say he peaked higher than Kyrie till this day. How did it go that everyone accepted he was the third option and not a tag team of him and Bron

In my day, piling up numbers on a bad or mediocre team wasn't something to be proud of. It meant nothing if your TEAM didn't win.
