Words to live by at 2:30. "Keep that high-hat tight."

I noticed the riff he played at 3:12 is essentially the same riff from his later song Voyage Into Dreams. That album came out in 2015. This video was released 2013. So he was probably just starting to write that song around the time this was recorded. Sounds sick!

As someone who is actually from Nashville and knows what is going on, I have to say you are exactly right. We have a lot of talent around Nashville, and JEFF is definitely part of that talent. I would say them, PUJOL, and Diarrhea Planet are all unique artists from Nashville that got tired of being traditional. If you are going to be snobby about someone not playing music "right" then stay away from the Nashville punk scene, because we aren't here to do what every songwriter thinks is the right.

All the people who are talking shit below have no clue what they're talking about. He can do more with 3 strings than you or I can probably do with 6.
@killercour
@killercour 9 жыл бұрын
metalmusician6798 Well its funny because he now uses a 6 string so i don't think you know what your talking about to be honest. All he was doing was restricting himself using only 3 strings.
@Nachtopus

LandoCowDelicion He only recently upgraded to 6-string. I'm pretty sure when I made this comment he wasn't even using 6-string fulltime yet.

Cool setup. I'd like to attempt similar but does it not twist your neck over time just having a few strings on one side?

He actually plays a 6 string for their newest album. Music isn't about being amazing on the instrument you are playing, it's about making something unique that you can share with others, and I think he is doing something unique that obviously is getting through to people. I wouldn't call him a loser, because he is doing something he enjoys and he is having more success than most musicians ever have.

There's a difference between an "Artist" and a "Musician". You don't have to necessarily be a good guitarist to write cool music. And on the flip side, just because someone is extremely talented doesn't mean that they write cool music.

I cant believe people are bitching about the fact he doesn't know what wood grain he used on the neck. I doubt you could tell me what kind of tires you have on your car, or what brand of lightbulbs you have in your house. I think those are kinda important too obviously. Far more important than a type of wood.

actually when I saw this I decided to give the benefit of the doubt and check out numerous live performances and downloaded their album "I like you" and it didn't change my opinion at all. I know you think trying to make a stab at me with the whole "mommy and daddy's money" thing is going to offend me but I consider myself very fortunate that I have parents who were supportive and kind enough to buy me my first guitar and amp, you make good parents seem like a bad thing.

I'm not saying fortune is not a bad thing, but getting things handed to you without hard work is. if you are listening to i like you, you dug too deep. Castle Storms and Heavy Days is where it is at. Also Hypnotic Nights is a good alteration to their sound.

Isn't there enough masters of the guitar neck already? You can make music with a pot and a pan. punk school is all about being able to scream your songs and play guitar like an idiot but to play it loud.. if you want to listen to guys that "dont suck at guitar", go and search into the countless millions of youtube covers, metal bands, jazz bands. there are people like me who think this guy doesn't suck.... he comes from Nashville, a town full of master musicians, maybe he got bored of the same
@squirrelnetwork
@squirrelnetwork 2 жыл бұрын
agreed. people who think there's a "right way" or "wrong way" to create art/music/writing are the philistines that don't understand that it's not about an achievement, it's about creativity and putting passion into something. those types may be able to learn to paint, or to play an instrument, but they'll never actually CREATE anything.

I think we could argue that point, it just goes to show that luck and being in the right place are what determines who will go places in music. this guy sucks at his instrument so badly he has to dumb it down for it to be playable to him. just an interesting point thats all.

..... Okay he does know how to make a three string guitar sound good but man it makes me so sad when players know nothing about their instrument (like what the fingerboard is made of....) I understand there is room for everyone in music but this guy is so lazy... its like oh I can't play a 6 string so I took 3 strings off.. I could go on but not worth it.
@roostr20
@roostr20 10 жыл бұрын
He doesn't give a shit. Neither should you. I mean, it doesn't matter in the end; the instrument is just that: a tool with an end to make good music. Which he does. I know tons of dudes who could write technical manuals on their guitars, but they play like shit. You're probably one of those dudes, and it's clear that you don't listen to or appreciate garage rock.
@TayloredImpression

I don't have an album, but that has absolutely nothing to do with my point that I think this guy sucks at guitar. When you ask me "how many records do you have blah blah blah" it just shows you have nothing else to say so you resort to the typical fanboy response - nice try.
@chrismortlock2192
@chrismortlock2192 11 жыл бұрын
I can tell you're a fanboy and will defend him. I'm merely looking at this from a guitar players point of view, he sucks too much to use 6 strings.. thats pretty sad. He also doesn't seem to be able to tell what rosewood looks like.
