She sounds really good for a live performance. I think that the reason some people are saying "she sounds flat, not so good, or someone's gotta learn how to breath" is because she is very nervous. Believe me, you can sound pretty kick ass at rehersal and very good in front of big crowds. But for some reason small crowds are always challenging, always. And nerves can betray even the most experienced and talented singer. Nerves will always be there, but when you learn to control your nerves through breathing everything falls into place, but that takes a lot of practice and many more live shows. So Casey, great job. I really think her performance was good, and even though nerves betrayed her a little, she did great. And the musicians were awsome!! Just amazing!!!!!!!

Super late reply, but I feel an urge to comment on this. She is usually AMAZING. There are a few problems with this video in particular. The first is the fact that it doesn't sound nearly as good on a camera as it does in person or in a booth. Second is that she isn't usually doing this kind of thing. Ordinarily she would be in a booth recording a song, or doing a slow song. She was under a lot of pressure and kept forgetting to breathe. Third is that she is trying really hard to be louder than the instruments and the crowd at the same time. That makes it really hard to sing. This sounds nothing like her normal singing end product.

To be fair , she sang this when she was 12-15. she had higher pitch back when she sang it. you should hear her now. i heard her in person and not going to lie she sounds amazing. natural voice with no tune up etc. she knows her boundaries etc For this moment- music was definitely louder than the singers. She also was a teen back than & i bet she was nervous.
