I feel so happy and proud of them for choosing to portrait topics like depression, suicide, self harm, family, bullying and academic pressure on their first comeback! Seunghoon is the one who did adlibs in Movie Star and he is the main vocalist of the group and obviously in charge in adlibs in backgroup and adlibs vocals. but i can hear them harmonazing specially during chorus.

The meaning behind this song is really powerful and beautiful too! They released 5 films before for this MV which focused on taboo topics like suicide, self-harm etc. Its really cool to see them leaving such an impact even though it was just their first comeback!

Numb is about the struggles that a student can have while going through the Korean education system. They have a lot of pressure on them and I admire CIX for bringing attention to how the students may feel, the feeling of being "Numb" 😔

The old school hiphop vibe definitely sticks around in the b-sides. I really recommend listening to their mini albums bc every single song is just so so good the vocals are crazy (listen,, the adlibs and highnotes are EVERYTHING) and the rap is SOO good!!

their first year anniversary is in a week or so👀. Also, the NUMB MV gives homage to their series of short films they released under the name "Hello, Strange Place." (also the name of the album.) It's neat and you should check it out (Epilogues as well, if possible. Have fun connecting the dots if you check out, online or offline☺). There is an edited version if you cant stomach (trigger warning) . . . . self harm (ep1), physical abuse (ep2), someone getting run over by a car(ep4) and someone falling off a building(ep3).

“numb” is actually about students who commit suicide because of the stress of school life in south korea. there are really high number of suicides of the students just because they couldnt get high grades and afraid of their parents’ reactions. it is so good to see some idols like cix are singing and taking attention to this🥺💙

numb's my favorite out of the two, more of my vibe. the choreography did make me feel like i was losing my senses. i love the little details of this dance. especially that pre-chorus. yep using your arms when turning really helps, i always hear that one from my dance teachers. the "trance feeling" seems like simulating the feeling of going numb. cix is one of those groups i know about but haven't fully appreciated until now.
