One of the most requested features on the Civil3D public roadmap is adding functionality for trimming a corridor, or perhaps adding functionality like 'Add Clipping Reference'. In the meantime this is a fine solution, thank you.

Great Video Jeff, Thanks for showing us efficient way of doing to create skew corridor, sometimes it always more trick to do it been easier
@vas.milivoj4 ай бұрын
I was doing this by creating modified assembly , with inserted invisible link that targets skew alignment, and then, rest of the assembly continues to the offset alignment, but this is other way, maybe cleaner than the one I was using so far. It is always good to be able to do things in various ways. Thank you for another beautiful tutorial Jeff :)

Thanks, Jeff. You are the best Civil3d teacher I've ever come across. Do you perhaps have any full and structured courses available for purchase?

You can find some great Civil 3D courses on LinkedIn Learning. I did a 13 hour Essential Training course for them a few years ago. The fundamentals shown in that course still apply today. You can find it here - www.linkedin.com/learning/civil-3d-2016-essential-training/welcome?u=104 Likewise, LinkedIn Learning also provides Civil 3D content recorded using more recent versions of Civil 3D.

Great video. However, we've avoided using auto corridor feature lines in the past as they don't accurately update when changes are made. Especially through vertical curves which occur quite often for bridges. Has stability improved in newer versions?

great, do you have any tips for skewed culverts under roadways. they need to trimed at an angle, i haven't found a way to do this with pipes.

Hello Mr Bartels. I have got a problem that I was hoping you could help me with. I have designed a 500-hectare residential town. And now My Eg Surface has to change. What can i do to replace the new surface and apply it to all the profile views and corridor targets, automatically? Tnx

would be great if there is a way to model the ends of stormwater drains,berms without having to use feature lines to round of the ends.

Jeff, I was wondering if you have any videos showing design coordination using Navisworks. I am looking to do conflict detection between Civil 3D pipes, Revit MEP pipes, and Revit Structures. I'm hacking my way through the process now but a video from an Autodesk expert like you would be very helpful :)
@Phoenix512914 ай бұрын
Hi Mr Bartels, interesting workflow. I don't understand why you don't get any errors from having circular references, meaning the EOP feature lines get their elevation from the same corridor that they are baselines in, also the skew profiles get their elevation from a corridor surface when they are targets in that same corridor. Why doesn't that throw an error, just like if you have feature lines dynamic to a surface and you try adding them as break lines to that surface, which makes civil 3d throw an error?
@alexmontanus4 ай бұрын
He made a new corridor (Main Street SKEW) where he gets the surface and EOP lines from. He then uses those in the main corridor (Main Stree)

Wild process, but in what instance would you use that method? Also, if needed, I would rather do a quick work around and manually draw whatever it is you need in that area. I prefer to HACK my projects to get them done.

Interesting, but time consuming workflow for solving a common challenge. I hope Autodesk will consider adding a Corridor tool that gives us the opportunity to add a skewed corridor with just a few clicks.

A few years ago you or your brother created a label style that directly accessed county GIS info (or .SHP file data) and created a label automatically. Is there anyway you could direct me to that video or create another one? Here is what I am looking for: I need parcel information such as Owner, Address, PID and maybe Acerage for existing parcels that I may access through a .SHP file from the county. The county has all that information attached to their .SHP file, I just don't know how to get it into my drawings without doing it all by hand meticulously. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! You guys are the best!!!! Thank you soooooo much for all of your help over the years!!!

@jeancoetzee28005 ай бұрын
I've been wondering the same. Performance has been woeful for many years yet his application runs so smoothly. The last time I saw performance like this within my application was when I was using the 2016 build.
@alexmontanus4 ай бұрын
@@jeancoetzee2800 2025 has been quite an improvement imho. Also, this isn't a very complex drawing. The EG surface seems to be a DREF, and there is a small and simple assembly used, in a short corridor. If this isnt running as smooth on your pc, look into editing settings within Civil3D. Try diasbling the Dyninput (Jeff also has it turned off) and I always turn off the filetabpreview.
