Thank you for this video. I have a model 6690 that we bought in 1983. It's been wonderful until last time I turned it on and the connector socket started smoking. I suspect the power supply capacitor has burnt out. I could not figure out how to access it but this video showed me where the mystery screws are to remove the back cover. Thanks again.

Hello I just acquired a beautiful 6000 series Viking machine. I live in NJ. Where would I take this to be repaired. It works but I’d like to get it serviced and cleaned. Any suggestions? Would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the video, it was a huge help! I recently found one of these on a flea market, for 10 NOK (around 1 USD), in a seemingly wonderful condition, but it has no foot pedal. Now I'm searching everywhere to find one so that I can test it to see if it's worth restoring. Seems to me it only needs a good cleaning, and to replace the fixed cam. I stupidly pulled out the A cam, and I might have broken an intact fixed cam 😵‍💫 That's what happens when you have no experience with these, but are curious 😵‍💫 This is probably a long shot, but I was wondering if you might now where to get a foot pedal for my machine, someplace that ships to Europe? 🫢 And would you clean the old lubricant on the inside, and put new lube there? 🤔

The internal cam is always broken on these machines. They will crack after some years. 100 % of them are broken. But there are new ones to put in, so it can be repaired. It might just have fallen apart when you took the A cam out, but it was not you who broke it. Dessa maskinerna är tillverkade i Sverige. Här finns det gott om begagnade delar och fotpedaler. Hi, Thanks for video. I got my Huscuvarna Classica 100, and it is sewing great. In the manual that comes with the machine it shows in diagram that machine has upper and lower thread cutters but I am unable to find upper thread cutter. Watched the videos about Classica and Optima and people are using scissors, Does your machine has thread cutters?

Hi I also am lookin for a foot pedal & power cord any help would be greatly appreciated . Wondering if it can be replaced somehow with a different one? I wrestled the back panel off which seems to be a challenge to do didnt berak it😂 the electric configuation is above my skill any help with that also would be great Thanks

Thank you for your video. Recently I got hold of a similar model. It turns out that the lever that moves the tread up and down, had come loose because a small plastic part with a bushing had broken. I managed to get the part out. I see in the video that you have a service manual. Perhaps therein are part numbers as well. Any suggestions how I can get a new part and fix this machine?

Nice to see repair videos like this, but... 1. Get a tripod, this shake is making me sea sick. 2. No fingernail polish please! Those painted nails are very distracting as they flutter around. I tell this to women all the time. DIY videos need focus on DIY not hands, hair, nails, faces, or music. Wear gloves so we don't have that distraction. See it from the viewer point of view. 3. Better lighting for dark insides. Headlamp would work great. 4. Read the manual on your own time please. We are here to benefit from your expertise, not novice learning.
