i talked to Paul briefly after a KBC show and got his autograph on a cocktail napkin where a friend had written "Trouzer Mice should be opening for KBC" Trouzer Mice was the name of my band at the time. Paul read it and said "Who's Trouzer Mice?" like a little puppy I squealed "that's the name of my band!" Paul said "i like the name" that meant EVERYTHING to me.

I don't remember a time that Jefferson Airplane or Jefferson Starship wasn't playing in my house. It has been a constant in my life, and Paul was (and still is) someone I admired, loved and respected. A friend posted on FB the day Paul passed on, that "it was a dark day" for me, he wasn't kidding, I couldn't stop crying and every now and again, still cry. The sound is always evolving, but never wanders too far from its roots and what Paul envisioned...STILL always relevant and always good for the soul to hear. Soft sounds, hard sounds, folk sounds, there will always songs out of its catalog that I will find therapeutic, calming, relaxing, thought-provoking, or fun to noodle around with on the guitar...like I said, "good for the soul". Thank you for this, Chris, David, Cathy, Donny, Jude and China!! Love you guys!! Eddie

Grew up in the Bay Area and I can't remember turning on the radio and not hearing a Jefferson Airplane/Starship song. Loved and still love this band and all its members!👍🏻❤ Super talented bunch of hippies my Dad would always say. RIP Marty, (had such a crush on you) Paul and Signe❤✌

What a lovely video about Paul. China's comments about the fans are very touching. It's soo good to know that Paul really cared. If you groked what Paul was about then you went deep into his music and vision as I did starting with Baxter's in 67. So full of love and optimism and always going forward to what we could become. He never gave up and I'll always carry that fire.

I loved cantankerous Paul. Met him at Salem, OR show playing with Hot Tuna. Loved his epic songs, his fun visions and artistic license with history, poetic. He was a bit of a visionary.

Been on a huge Jefferson Airplane/Starship kick lately. Love all the albums, including all the Grace Slick solo albums. Also nice to see China again as I love all her acting work...The Stoned Age is one of my all-time favorite movies! Peace I am also an SF native.

Honestly , it was pretty disappointed that she didn't resemble her 1990s self. But I always thought she was way cooler in the Stoned Age, then Renee. China could have totally had some fun without a douche like Hubbs.....lmao.

Love them all and miss Paul always. So many memories. He was always welcoming when I was fortunate to hang with him even if it was only for a few minutes. I always made sure I had a seat in the front facing the center left of the stage. ☮

When Paul released PERRO on cd I was lucky enough to get an interactive cd of PERRO the novel and Nicaragua Diary on one cd. It amazed me how creative he was. He is still one of my favorite artists.

As a lifelong fan who first saw the Jefferson Starship on the night Craig Chaquico joined the band in Sacramento I am happy to know I could play a part in making his life better. Paul did the same for me making my life happier. Saw them 45 times with the most unusual place being on the slopes of Boreal Ridge in the summer sometime in the 80's. Every party I went to in high school had a Jefferson Starship song playing because I was rummaging through their records and always found a copy of Dragon Fly to play. You could tell Paul loved what he was doing and I loved his voice and his songwriting. I have felt so fortunate that Paul kept playing all those years. The closest I got to meeting him was in Reno before a concert as he was entering an elevator and I couldn't reach it in time. I write social justice poetry and often think of Paul as I am writing. His interest in China was similar to mind and when I was climbing the Great Wall he was on my mind. Will miss him dearly and thankful for his life. So many great memories.

On the day Paul Kantner died I wrote a sort of tribute to him using nine Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship songs. " It's No Secret," "Today" Paul Kantner is no longer "Running Around This World," but his spirit is like a "High Flyin Bird," who sang "Let Me Fly" to the "Other Side of this Life" where I can wear the "Crown of Creation" and see "The Light" from the "Windows of Heaven."

I met Paul in Media Play in Utah and saw the concert and have pictures with him and The band at the time. They kept telling him he couldn't smoke indoors and he cussed them out and did anyway...lol it was Diana Manganaro singing with him. He signed my guitar, and his Scifi story he wrote and recorded. I saw the band years before that here at Livestock and lightning was crashing through the sky with a storm, literally after he cussed out the Mormon church here. He was halarious and I'm a member. We aren't all fanatics and as an Army Veteran, freedom of religion ring a bell...lol? I probably spelled Diana's last name wrong, apologies if so, mine gets the treatment too... including being said as birdshite in the Army. I miss him, his humor, music and life energy. I also saw him at a music festival here, B.A C.A. Bikers Against Child Abuse did security for and I saw a fight with the Band Kansas ensue, oh shite the stories I have...I am a cofounder of B.A.C.A retired after 21 years 8 years ago. I wish more could be said about his love of Science Fiction and the story he wrote and recorded. It's actually really good. Long live the members past, present and future, for music always evolves thank God. We all hear it differently yet it brings us all together, if just for a time. Rock In Peace Paul.🙏🎸

I love everything about JS! I was wearing a JS concert t-shirt on White Rd. in San Jose back in the late 80's and met Donny's niece. I got to visit Donny's parents house where she lived the next night but we didn't click and that was the last time I saw her. Oh, I was living my life as a male then. No Way Out? I found my way out by Layin' It On the Line!

the future is about nerve. look into the eyes of your young dancing children and don't be afraid of our ways. talking of napoleon in the garden. you can dance and sing and walk with me. find a way to need someone. the people you see will leave you be, more than the ones you've known before. come alive all over you. everything you say we are we are and we are very proud of ourselves. so be kind. we are all creatures of fame, lightness and liberty. from the president of the united states of america. I'm doing things that haven't got a name yet. I've seen their way too often for my liking. new worlds to gain. it ain't what you want it's what you need. thanks for nothin. sonar, lazar, quasar, pulsar bombarded with argon. in 1979 all my people rose from the country side. armadillo.
