Picked a HP w19b from the trash, also showing same white screen which led me to this video. I went looking for a fuse around the same area of the t-con board and found a burned one too. There was no short to ground and I could not find any other problematic components in that board. I didn't have another fuse to try, so I did a solder bridge and got image on it. Put it back together early this morning and spent last hour and a half using it, so far so good.

I had a 2002 Range Rover that used to do this during the winter months when the weather was rainy. The issue was somehow moisture ingress related but I never pursued it very far. When you started the vehicle the dash LCD would show only a white screen rather than the NAV display. It was a 4:3 LCD made by Toshiba with RGB Sync On Green signalling common on European cars of that era. It's a pretty common issue for that model. Do you have any thoughts on what it could be?

TV, Laptop or car, Best Practices work. What do I mean? Confirm the complaint, next do some simple checks while getting a lay of the circuit(s). Do a good visual as you may see the possible problem like signs or hot areas or discolored spots, replace the obvious but check to see if the problem is still there and confirm the part you removed is good or bad. This helps with confidence to move forward as you said, “Something made the fuse open”. Follow the circuit, simple quick test as the DMM on diode setting produces some voltage as diodes have a 0.7 volt drop. The mosfet is used as a switch & 95% are “N” channel type. If the numbers can be read, chances are you can find it or specs to help get a different brand. If in doubt, always go slightly bigger in amps, voltage or both. I miss the days the diagrams was on paper and under the back cover. At least many print it on the PC board. Nicely done.

@ndrewwb 2 жыл бұрын
@@nhozdien5058 yep! those were the symptoms on mine too. I think the noise comes from something vibrating on the main circuit board when that power rail goes into short circuit. For what it's worth, you might be able to work past that stripped screw if you carefully drill it down so that the head comes away and you can continue working from there. Mine failed again pretty quickly when I used A09T MOSFETs so I bought some 12H34s from aliexpress and those worked great for me. Great video. Working on the same monitor. I had to replace Q9 on the main board ( was incinerated, could not read p/n ) . C334, C338, C806 were shorted too on the screen's pcb. Removing C338 ( tiny black component , measures 0 ohm ) there was no more short on C344 and C806. Replacing Q308, F001 as you did , I get steady 12V on the screens's pcb, and these voltages : 1.24V on L302, 0.86v on L304, 3.3v on L305, 0.0V on L308, 0.09V on L307, 11.92V on L301. I was wondering if you have ever worked on a Kenwood double din receiver with navigation? The reason I am asking is because there are a lot of us that have this unit and from what I can tell is the Garmin Navigation board is causing the unit to stay in standby mode. I have found where one youtuber has taken the board out and refloated the chips and it starts working after that.

my monitor will come on eventuall,y but it's like starting a banger, the monitor will attempt to turn on then blink off but over time it warms up and then finally will stay on I am assuming it's some if not almost all the capacitors running on dead. which i assume should be easy to repair but this is an assumpton, the screen does go white but not always. it mainly shows asus logo for a split second then blacks out for 10 to 30 seconds. then trys again each time the logo will stay on a microsecond longer till it blinks for 2 seconds then shows a desktop then after 3 more blinks it stays on desktop . I have the HE version of this monitor need to know how to tear it down tho.

Hi I have an LG 240hz display that has the same brand of panel, so the same kind of T-CON board (27m14-c05) and it has this issue. The fuse on 12v was never blown and still reads just okay but the same q308 mosfet is the problem causing shorts to ground. I have changed out the damaged 12h34 for a A09T like in the video, once its removed all shorts are gone but when the display is turned on the mosfet suffers a drain + source short and blows, with the white screen problem repeating itself. I've tested the blown mosfets after removing them and the gate doesnt have a short, just the drain and source. I also tested other components around the P303-19 for shorts or damage but everything seems to be reading just fine so I dont know why it keeps on blowing. i also have tested the monitor mainboard without the panel connected and the 12 volts reads good. may I need to try a different type of mosfet? and do you have any recommendation? thank you
