Hi, i have a 2004 hummer h2 that i recently bought. It has a refurbished cluster in it according to sticker on the back. Air bag light is on. Driver information center doesn't work correctly. It flashes the different languages and thats all it will do. Twice i was able to use the DIC but now doesn't work. I have steering controls and it came with aftermarket head unit. I changed steering control buttons which didnt fix anything. Any ideas i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
@jeffescortlx
@jeffescortlx 7 күн бұрын
This is a common internal cluster issue. It is not the buttons themselves that are the problem, the original cluster rebuilder may have cut some corners during the rebuild. But as far as the airbag light, If it's at normal brightness you probably have an actual air bag code. If it is dimly lit, then this is another issue that was not taking care of during the original rebuild.
@Nmelso48292
@Nmelso48292 7 күн бұрын
@jeffescortlx thank you for the info. Yes, the airbag light is lit up normal. I checked it with snap on scanner. It didn't show anything but it also wouldn't let me delete it either. My biggest issue is getting the DIC working. It works maybe once every couple of months.

I have a Xbox one fat. I changed hard drive, partitioned it with Xbox-hdd-partition, downloaded osu1 file but it didn't work. Checked caps near apu, they were all shorted, inductors on VGPUCORE were shorted too. Then I checked working board, and found out that these shorts are actually there in design and schematic. Voltages are present at VGPUCORE, and VGPUCORE. I don't know what to do now. But apu becomes too hot. On the back side, I put my finger it burns my finger. Is the apu dead?
@jeffescortlx
@jeffescortlx 7 күн бұрын
A good inductor is going to appear like a short, It's going to be very low and impedance because it's just a small whining of wire. The APU load is going to appear very low in impedance also. So you really have to pay attention to tell the difference between a normal low impedance and a dead short impedance. Many of those little capacitors are going to be in parallel with the APU, so they are going to appear to be shorted when in really they're just in parallel with a really low impedance load. So again you really have to be on the lookout to spot the small difference in a true dead short.
@TheXbox720
@TheXbox720 7 күн бұрын
@jeffescortlx thanks for your reply sir, I think the APU is dead, thats why it reaches burning temperature, then it shuts down to cool down.

Jeff, I have a 2007 Suburban cluster the LEDs on the oil gauge no longer light. So I thought maybe a cold joint upstream or most likely a defective transistor since both went dark at the same time. I can't find anything that tells me what transistor contols the dial LEDs or what transistor value it is. Also I was trying to make a harness out of a cluster cable I got from the junk yard but was not able to find a wiring diagram to make connections to so that the cluster comes alive. Would you be able to share that info with me? Thank you so much for your assistance. I am pretty good at fixing things once I have the right schematics etc.

I have an 03 cluster I’m working on and I’m having trouble finding the issue if you could please give me some insight I would be grateful. None of the gauges work nor does the prndl or mileage.. the stepper motors were recently replaced and before that the only issue it had was the 4 small gauges weren’t working..when plugged back into the truck the prndl lit up with no key and once the key was inserted the prndl shut off and the only thing that works now is the backlight leds.. no movement on any gauges and no display info at all now..

Intermittent power is typically caused by fractured solder joints at either the diodes or the resistors that feed the main regulation circuit. The other problems you listed may have been caused by someone trying to fix the first set of problems.

Can you confirm continuity for the bus signal from where it comes into the connector all the way to the 56585? It does pass through a little blue inductor, but that will meet her out as very low impedance/short.
