I have been keeping bees since the spring 1972 and every time I look into a hive I am amazed at the incredible engineering abilities of the workers. No levels, plumb bobs, GPS or laser equipment and look at the work they can do. The fifth wheel hive was a work of art. I paused the video to stare at it for a few minutes. So many people state that a particular hive design should be used because it is "More Natural". Well all they have to do is look at the fifth wheel hive and see that to the bees everything is "Natural". Thank you for taking the time to video your work and all the extra time spent editing.

Great entertaining video. Comb looks like a aerial view of some ancient city. The layout and design makes no sense to us in modern times but they had reasons for their construction pattern. Strength, protection, space utilization, convenience? ?? We don't know but they do. Primitive architecture is fascinating and bees are masters. Nice wrangling and relocation. Thank you for allowing us a view. Merry Christmas to you, Ralph, your families and associates.

I was waiting for Ralph to close with the Hobby Bee Keeping slogan!!! Thanks Mr Edward Jeffry Fuzzy. GBWYou, Brother!

Here's a story for you, the second piece of comb I picked up, and it was only the size of tennis ball, there she was. I was not expecting to see her so soon and definitely not on a tiny pice of empty comb. There were so many bees clustered around her, the whole clump of bees fell back onto the comb beneath, and she scurried away. That's OK I snagged her about 20 minutes latter. As always, Ralph did a super job. I'm so blessed to have him as a friend. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed

Between you and the Rooster off the roster I stay amazed. Ralph is a work unto hisself. If it was me there you could use the bee vacuum on me because none would be left in the hive. All on me. Poor Ralph. lol Those were sure in there tight. Looked like their bee space was narrower than most. Those trailers are a pain to work on. You don’t know where anything is and where wires and pipes go. They make them to sell and not be worked on. Thanks for the cool video. Merry Christmas 🎄.

I bet that you said to yourself after watching how I treated poor Ralph at the end of the video, " I'm glad I have my own channel so I don't have to get embarrassed by Mr. Ed." You have to admit, that was some beautiful comb. I'm thinking about subing them out to engineer firms as advisors on building bridges. I'm no fan of campers, and getting these bees out of this one only reaffirms that sentiment. Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones Jerome. God's peace always. Mr. Ed

Bees in a fifth wheel trailer? They were just trying to travel to new lands and now you have totally messed up the migratory plan of the queen. Now they have to fly instead or riding. All kidding aside, thanks for the video and I hope you and Ralph have a great Christmas holiday

Jeff that honey kitchen is swank, I was watching the video you showing the rooster. Our honey comes from rabbit brush and is dark like yours. Plus cut outs too lol. But we are just in our first year here in Monument Valley. So next year we will probably have our first real honey haul. From our first two cut outs and late season swarm catch we have three boxes by Mitchell Butte and a top bar in the wash in Narrow Canyon and one box with our neighbor in her orchard. So they like the grape arbor and the cornfields. So probably next year we can send you a taster for your shelf!

Hey Mr. Ed! What a weird place for a beehive! A few a questions: 1) What is brew? 2) Have you ever vacuumed up the Queen by accident? If so, what happens? 3) Is The Abbey open to the public? Many thanks to you and Wreckin' Ralph ("He's So Shy!!").
@JeffHorchoff6 жыл бұрын
1.The word is"brood" and that is comb that has the bee larva in it which will soon become adult bees. 2. I have vacuumed her several times in the past, and things worked out OK. 3. Yes, the abbey is open to the public. Ralph is a very humble man, and I'm honored to have him as a friend. God's peace LD. Mr. Ed

One time in my workshop a giant swarm of bees made a home. There was millions of them probably. Anyway I had an air compressor in there with a really long hose to my front yard. I needed to use my air compressor for working on a car. I turned it on and ran out as fast as I could. A couple of hundred flew out behind me but I ran in the house and they didn't get me. So for about a week I was scared to go back in there. About every 3 or 4 hrs it would kick on for about 5 minutes around the clock. 2 weeks later I went in there and they were gone. A few dead ones around the compressor. They never came back so I'm assuming that noisy compressor chased em off
