Out of these I sometimes do front raises,. I'm glad I saw this. Ive never really put thought into why i do them I just enjoy the way it feels at the end of a workout, usually light days with high reps. I get 15 pound dumbbells and just crank out 100, concentrating on keeping my back/torso still and a controlled motion going up and down In tempo. Perhaps I've just been wasting my time.
@ChrlzMaraz2 жыл бұрын
Yup! Use that time to do lateral raises and cable pulls and your shoulders will look soooo much fuller and better.

after sifting through a bunch of garbage fitness channels, I just want to say that this is quality content. You don't talk around in circles about the same thing over and over again, you get to the point and are concise and clear. Not to mention that your knowledge and advice is very solid as well. This is the type of content that will actually be helpful to novice health and fitness enthusiasts.

Good summary! Especially I like your dissuading for the behind the neck exercises. In my youth I got a serious upper back damage by behind the neck pulldown, causing me several months abstaining from training. And I didn't use heavy weights. I have heard so many warnings for that performance so I really think it's justified.

The first program I was on when I started lifting about 8 months ago included front raises, but noted to do them very slowly. I found that doing them slow at a low weight was an insanely hard forearm workout, and I didn't feel it in my front delts at all unless I went heavier and faster. No idea if it's worth it as a forearm workout compared to other options, but it was tough as hell.
@Piper-yd5vr Жыл бұрын
His point wasnt necessarily that it was a bad exercise, just unnecessary since that muscle area is usually already pretty trained in your workouts

I really appreciate him for explaining the squats. My friend kept saying our form was bad because we weren't going that low, I didn't know much, but I'm like my body can't do that 😂😂😂💪I was right . A 90 degree angle is perfectly fine
@SantomPh2 жыл бұрын
A little below 90° is better as you have the leg angle to move upwards instead of trying to stand up from a delicately balanced position. Nothing is worse than a half squat that is supposed to be a full squat
@thereisneverquiettherightn1789 Жыл бұрын
Squats have a lot of benefits and although highly recommended they are not essential. You need to have the right form and physiology to do them safely. Depending on your goals it might be better to look elsewhere for growing your legs and leg strength.
@XLEZZY_REUPLOADS Жыл бұрын
Anyone can go ass to grass and should be training their mobility for them. It's literally a basic human function. Stop finding cheap ways out. It's been proven that atg squats also produce more hypertrophy results and improves conditioning and quad strength. Don't blame it on your anatomy blame it on your laziness to never stretch. If a child can do it then you can

Jeff typically forgets that some people who train might be a little older with shoulder arthritis/joint issues and that limits their activation of the front delt. I have to limit my “conventional” pressing movements due to shoulder arthritis so front raises absolutely target and load the front delt effectively. Of course I still train the rear and medial just as hard(if not harder) with raises, but for me, front raises are easy on the shoulder joint and I can pound my front delts
