Man, I remember as a kid growing up in Chicago listening to Herb Kent "The cool gent" playing this cut. This is like one of the classic steppers cuts, just smooth, got a bounce, relaxed, and chill. It's like when this jam plays the nonsense in the hood can't penetrate our being, like things are going to alright. Man, I miss those days when we rocked music like this. Peace

WAS IN A CHICAGO CLUB IN '91 ON NORTHEAST CORNER OF ABOUT 26TH & MICHIGAN AVE. AND THE DJ PUT THIS ON AND I THOUGHT MAYBE A FIRE BROKE OUT. IT WAS LIKE ALMOST EVERYONE IN THE PLACE WAS ON THE MOVE. LOOKED LIKE EVERYONE WAS RUNNING AWAY. TURNS OUT ALL THE STEPPERS WERE MAKING THEIR WAY TO THE DANCE FLOOR. I HAD NEVER HEARD THIS GROOVE BEFORE AND IT WAS 12 YEARS OLD. THE FLOOR WAS PACKED WITH STEPPERS SHOWING THEIR ASSES. IT WAS TRULY A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT. THE BROTHERS WERE SMOOTH AS SILK AND THE SISTERS WERE ALL LIKE FINE WINE. NO ONE WAS MISSTEPPING OR BUMPING INTO EACH OTHER. IT WAS LIKE A BIG CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE OF 100 DANCERS. IT WAS REALLY A SIGHT TO SEE AND IT WAS AT THAT MOMENT I THOUGHT TO MYSELF "MY BLACKASS NEED TO LEARN HOW TO STEP". I WAS JEALOUS I COULDN'T JOIN IN THE STEPPERS FLASH MOB. 🤣 AS LONG AS I LIVE I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT SEEN. CHI-TOWN IS TRULY THE STEPPERS CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. CHICAGO CALLS THESE OLD AND LITTLE KNOWN JAMS "DUSTIES". 😎 MUCH LOVE FOR THE MUSIC AND THE STEPPERS. STEPPERS KEEP DOING THAT SMOOTH SHIT. IT'S PART OF WHAT MAKES US "US".
