You completely overlooked the small hook that extends from the top loop. I have found that leaving the dome light on “low” tends to attract more bugs to the zapper than the ultraviolet light alone. You can also simply leave the bulb connected to a power source and it will run for as long as power is supplied to it. This is also ideal for small, enclosed spaces like tents or RVs and is just about useless in the open air.

Good tip. Leave white light in low. I'll try it. My kill count went down after a few weeks. I can't believe I'm commenting. I just searched to see if there's a way to test the zapper. With a multimeter or such.

FYI. My similar looking FuzeBug kills a lot of bugs - EXCEPT mosquitoes. The ad says “not a cheap item made in China”. When I got the product it had on the box MADE IN CHINA.

I'm so confused. I've used it for several weeks. Got as a father's day gift. I was sceptical, at first. Wow! Carnage!. Learned my used rubber dental picks were perfect for cleaning. It worked so well. Now. Hardly has any. I can't tell if the zapper has weakened, or it killed all the parents off. Ha, ha. I keep using it. Not missing the mess.

The problem I have with all these bug zappers is, they kill bugs that don't need to be killed, some bugs are beneficial to us, the only bugs that bother me are mosquitos

It doesn’t kill mosquitoes. It kills every other kind of bug, except Mosquitoes. If you find a dead mosquito, it’s because the wind blew it into the coils.

I think those shouldn't be used only inside tents or other enclosed living areas. Some insects are very important in local ecosystems. We should protect them instead of killing them. What do you think?

Don't...I just sent mine back. It's fine for bugs attracted to light/UV but mosquitos aren't one of them. As someone else said, if you find a mosquitos in there it's because it blew in accidently. The price is also a rip off. It is manufactured in China for a few dollars .....

The light attracts bugs but not mosquitos. Ultra violet light which is what operates the coils does not attract mosquitos. That is the research. If you want little insects fried and a great camp light then buy it....but mosquitos...not in this lifetime. I just received a full refund for mine. Note: there are a few variations of these and are all manufactured in China for a few dollars. Humungous mark up for a gloried flashlight.

Bug or mosquitos? Something has to attract the bugs to the zapper. Ultra violet light does not attract mosquitos.
