I have these throughout my home. Not every bulb but about half of them is enough to light the house in a power outage. I've been doing alot of electrical Upgrades and when I turn off the breaker it's nice to know they work but also makes finishing the job super easy. I also have them on my porch light too and when the power went out once I had a neighbor come over and ask me if my power was out. I was the only light on the street that was on. So that's cool.

Wow hey Jeff thanks for this video. We just received our first order of these yesterday and I gotta say I'm impressed. These work exactly as advertised and that's nice because we dove in and bought an 8-bulb set from BrightLiving - 4 each of the Soft Whites and Daylights. Came with 4 of the plug squares and 8 of the screw caps. Took a bulb and the instructions to work to mess with and showed coworkers the lamp trick and the carry-around/hanging bulb. Probably sold a couple for the company last night, haha. They were as tripped as Wife and I were. LOL and like you, the lamp I had was a smaller one and the bulb rose glaringly over the shade, haha. Prolly best to get a big set like 8-10 to keep in one place as charged standby's for the ones being used in the lamp(s). Again, thanks for the review.

I just bought today 3 Living Glow rechargeable LEDs at a resale place. They were loose in a bin of mixed lightbulbs but stood out b/c they had the end hook attachments. They were marked $3 ea. but my senior discount was 50% off so the 3 cost me $4.50 vs $9! SCORE! I had many empty of realize these were in ghe (extensive) store. Let’s just say they were very envious of my find. 😌 I didn’t realize they were rechargeable! only found that out when looking them up online. Unfortunately, this brand I bought appears to be only sold thru HSN so I’m considering another brand. I saw a video on one that you could dim up/down several steps AND have a bright white or warm setting! 🙌 That was adjustable by pressure on a spot on the side of the bulb’s base. More features than other brands but apparently takes 10 hrs of charging (worth the features, IMO). I might buy some of these extra ‘fancy’ ones and also the basic ones that take less time to charge (yours was 6 hrs, I believe) just to make sure I was covered in emergencies & camping. I just took a basic electrical class at that resale warehouse today & discovered the socket in my dark & puny 1947 house got fried when trying to use an LED light in it. Now, instead of having to pay an electrician to require it, I can just hang this up in my closet! I thought since it has the in bottom on the hook part, I’ll attach it to something stretchy so I can pull it down to turn on/off but it can retract upward otherwise. A $1.50 score that solved having to hire a pricey electrician to fix it! Yeah!

I'm late to the party but I have a similar bulb with a backup. They are amazing. They have a switch on the side instead of the little adapters. I use them in several overhead lights. Bath room, hallway living room. So if power goes out still have some lights through the house. No problem with them turning back on when I switch them off as some people have complained about.

Hi, Jeff...This is actually a pretty cool product. Just the other night, my lights went out, and I just lit a few candles and used my laptop (with it battery) until the lights came back on about a half an hour later. These would be perfect for getting through what is usually just a brief power outage. I also like the fact that you can use them with your lamps, just as regular bulbs...Thanks for the review, my friend. By the way, FYI...Keep your old phone when you upgrade. You can keep the old phone charged and you always have a very bright flashlight when you need one, plus the light lasts for a good while on a full charge.

Jeff you don't need the plug if you're keeping the lamp in the same location, it will work plugged into the wall socket as long as there's no power. It's so you can can "trick" a lamp into thinking it's plugged in so you can take it to another room like the bathroom or kitchen and set it on any surface even if there's no outlet nearby.

I was planning on buying a few but changed my mind since you have to take out the bulb for it to work or use the adapter. 2 hour usage isn't long enough. What I've been using are those General Electric brand motion detector lights, that can be set to constant on or movement alone. I used them in my RV in the desert and they stay on forever.

I just bought two sets..each set has 6 bulbs for $29.00 + $3.50 for S&H from HSN home shopping network. I got a 1 set of 6 bright bulbs and a 1 set of 6 softer light bulbs. It's odd because I don't normally watch the shopping channels for fear of buying til I'm broke..lol..but true. I live in Florida and don't need to tell you why we need this so bad. I couldn't be happier with them, if we go through a hurricane and the lights are off for days..we're all set..I was channel surfing and happen to see them. I couldn't be happier with them. I did notice they are from different manufacturers..the one's I got have a Smart chip in them that can detect a power outage as soon as it happens and activates the bulbs battery..it can also tell the difference between a power outage and if you turn your light switch off or unplug it..It also has a dimmer switch...perhaps it's only in the bright or daylight bulbs...I haven't opened the other package so I don't know yet. I was amazed they arrives in three days. Thank you for the review? I was looking to see if I was charging them properly and found you. Definitely a new subscriber..

I use these bulbs and wouldn’t be without them! I call them my “magic bulbs”. I first saw them (or a similar brand on Tv) so I decided to get me some. I put them in my two table lamps in the den and turn lamps on all day and use normally. This keeps them charged up. Takes about 8 hours to charge. One time our town had a terrible rain storm, lightning, wind and rain. We lost power in the city for almost 5 hours. All my neighbors lights and street lights went out! But mine stayed ON! I bought two more boxes (4 in a box) and gave two to each my daughters. They didn’t believe me that they would work. But next storm when we lost power their lights stayed on. I put bulbs in my bedroom night lamps. But you have to use the lamps so bulbs stay charged. I can’t say enough about these bulbs and won’t be with out them. I’ve given bulbs to my neighbors. I told my cousin about them who lives in Florida. She bought them and said during their last bout with hurricane they weren’t left in dark, the magic bulbs saved them from darkness! Everyone get them!!

OR, get a used UPS for next to nothing and hook it to a new deep cell batteries. people just throw these out after a couple years ,when the battery dies. The stock size batteries are cheap on line. With the correct Gage size wire and a fuse ,you can hook it to a bigger battery, so it will run a LONG time. Even add a solar panel. These USED ups are everyplace [ like the dump/ side of road/ second hand shops], and are handy to have around. Throw a handle on it and you have some portable power. Ones you find free or cheap are usually about 100-300 watts. that will run LED bulbs a long time with just the regular battery.

And another Great review ! I think they figure 1 adapter piece because you would use both bulbs in a main living space area and the lamp would most likely require 2 bulbs . You would use one of these bulbs with a regular bulb because your wife would lose her mind with 2 different types of bulbs hahaha That adapter is used to complete the circuit to lite the bulb it says you can actually touch both prongs of the plug on your lamp with a wet paper towel you can make jumpers a piece of wire a couple inches long with alligator clips on each end or just use the wire anyway ...Hows that Pillow working out for you? still comfortable? let us know when there back in stock keep up the excellent work

If you turn the lamp off to go to bed, does the bulb stay lit as if the power went out? Or is there a way it senses that the power is still on but you turned it off with the lamp on off switch? If you can't turn the bedroom lamp off when you want to sleep do you have to take it out of the socket to switch it off? It doesn't sound so great if you need to modify it to get it to shut off when you turn the lamp switch off.

👉 I will like to add to your demonstration of the Rechargeable 💡 Bulbs. The 💡 Bulb can be screwed into your house / wall socket also and it works really well and is always kept changing once used as a regular light 💡 Bulb. If power goes while the 💡 Bulb was on, it will remain on and give you light for about 3 hrs +, however if power went and the Bulb 💡 was off, all you have to do is flick your light switch on and you will have light for about 3-4 hrs. No need to remove the Bulb 💡 from the wall socket, just use it as a regular Bulb 💡 and save electricity at the same time, because it a 9W Bulb 💡 that puts out 60W of light, so you save electricity. 👍

The whole point of these lights is they can be left in the lamp or overhead fixture and they actually DO work when the power goes off. Yes, they can be removed from the lamp and used with the little white bases, but why would I want to do that during a power outage when I have dozens of flashlights? Why would I want to fiddle around in the dark and unplug a lamp to plug in the little white things during a power outage? Do you have a video where you correctly show how these actually do work during a power outage? They're ingenious.

If you leave them in with the rest of the bulbs in a switched lighting circuit, I issue they will switch of with the others. Just a switch. So it can differentiate between a power outage and just being asked to stop providing light, while the house power is still hot?

Maybe they forgot to put my other one in...I another review of these type of bulbs (same bulb with a different name) I found that if you use them in a ceiling light they will still work in a power outage...pretty neat.

@@Jeffreviews4u lol.. yes I get that luck at times as well! Btw.. since getting these lights... I came across another awesome light. It's a rechargeable (usb) . It's called Big sun, model Q953. It's handheld with a small built on tripod. It lights from front and or the side. It lasts for 28 to 32 hours per charge. I bought 2 from Amazon. I put one in my chicken coop over night. From 6 pm until 7 am. It was still bright when I went in the. It sets upside down on the tripod and It fits my regular tripod. They way outlast these light bulbs if you need a longer alternative. 😁😎

I just got some but a different brand. I don't know how you would consider these useful in a power out situation. They don't last long enough. You would be better getting a battery powered light with rechargable batteries. Charge batteries off of a solar generator.
@Jeffreviews4u3 жыл бұрын
I have found a few different brand names on these lights but they all have the same item number...pretty interesting...Short power outages, these are beneficial. If the power outage lasts more than a day you will need a way to charge them during the day. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Takes 8 hours to charge probably last only 8 hours if it lasts maybe 24 hours that be a great product on an 8-hour charge

8 hours to charge and will last about 3 hours. I agree, if they lasted longer that would definitely be an improvement. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

You don't mention how to recharge the small plug that was included in the box. If you connect that small plug to your lamp, how long will it last? What happens to the plug when it is dicharged.

It seems like it would be awesome for a quick fix, but not if you loose power for an extended period of time. Too bad there is no way to recharge them (solar). Too bad they have to be in a electric socket to charge.

Correct...if the power goes out we use them sparingly.

Yet you're still in the dark until you fumble around trying to plug in the stupid attachment. I have a small flashlight that plugs into the wall and automatically comes on if power to the outlet is disconnected. i.e. power outage

Screwed them in socket to charge. After charging, turned off at wall switch. Lights stayed on. Didnt want them on at that point. What am I doing wrong.
@Jeffreviews4u3 жыл бұрын
It's nothing you did wrong. I talked with an electrician friend of mine and he said it also depends on how your house was wired. From what I understand some houses have wires that go to the light then the switch where other houses have the wire go to the switch and then the light. Hope this helps. How do you charge that little plug in device
@Jeffreviews4u4 жыл бұрын
The little plug is just a connection piece to make the lamp think it is plugged in. It does not require a charge. Just the light bulb needs to be charged. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I got two plugs with mine. The screw on attachment works to hang off a lamp when the lampshade is not big enough to screw in the bulb. I'm wondering how long a charged bulb stays charged if you just store it in a closet until needed.
@Jeffreviews4u3 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it is like other batteries that will need to be charged over time. I find it easier to fit in a lamp or light socket that I will use so they stay charged. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
