we bought similar, imagine at night the bulb is charging, its time for bed, you switch the light switch on and hey the bulb comes on and stays on till the batterries go flat, i think these have a LDR fitted so as soon as the light is low enough the bulb comes on,so you go bed at 10pm the bulb comes on and last for 2 to 3 hours(dont know how they get 5 to 6 hours) Midnight the batterries are flat, 01:00 you get a power cut, result no light as its needs about 8 to 12 hours to recharge, do your research before buying, Oh they say it acts like a torch, simple solution, go buy a torch.

She says they don't get hot well that's half-truth they don't get hot while you're running off of your normal 110 but as soon as they switch over to start running off that battery feel them to see how hot they get

Think about that your bedrooms upstairs but all you're downstairs bulbs let's say the power goes out 1 hour after you go to bed those bulbs come on and burn their stored power before you can even wake up

Not these have built in batteries so they continue to light up when the electricity goes out.

@@Kris-yi6fm got some after more research, thanks got solar panels now for about half he house the bed rooms have some of these bulbs on hand so that we can use them in the bed rooms to see by,, 2 lamps in each room so that I can use one for 4 hours then turn the other one on trying to make the 3 bedrooms off the grid as possible got those light bulbs, solar charger for each room for devices in each room

No it's just a short circuit. You can do the same thing by connecting the prongs together. When the bulb detects a short and no power it uses the battery
