You increased the SID for the oblique? Did you use 48 inches?

+Cediddy James The SID is reduced for the Axial AP (1 inch for every 7 degrees) He raised the tube back to 40 SID for the oblique...

My technique was to put both obliques side by side on an 18x24 cassette (10x8inches). That meant collimating to include only 1/6 of the field most radiographers exposed. I did not use any centering points as judgement of the quality of the work never relies on what is in the center and more to do with what is contained within the exposed area. Tight collimation means that what the eye and mind use for positioning is exactly relevant to how the xray turns out

Jeffrey, I had X-rays of my sacroiliac joints and they took the X-rays standing up? Is that accurate? I see you have your patient laying down. Also it was only 3 X-rays done, mid, left side & right side. I was not happy with the X-rays. Might be going for a second opinion somewhere else. I believe if the X-rays are not taken correctly the radiologist reading will not be accurate. What are your options? 🤔

We teach that these x-rays are done while patient is laying down. Some x-rays can be done with patient standing but I do not know why they would have performed them this way. You could ask them, sometimes departments have things they do specifically because of a request from the ordering doctor or even a radiologist wanting it done that way.

@@jeffreyjobe1984 thank you for responding back, really appreciate your feedback. I’m thinking of going to a different facility to get another X-ray of my Sacroiliac joints, the technician didn’t even know what was the sacroiliac joint that should have been a red flag 🚩 right there 🤦🏻♀️ I have been having lower back pain that goes around my waist and pelvic for several years. I think it might have to do with my autoimmune so my rheumatologist send me for X-rays

What is center cell
@jeffreyjobe19846 жыл бұрын
On control panel. There is side and center cells. If you look at most upright x-ray boards where patient puts their chest you will see 3 boxes. 2 side cells and 1 for the center. You can set which cell is being used from control panel.
@DJJaketheWake5 жыл бұрын
Automatic exposure control my friend. The cells need to be center over anatomy of choice. This lets the control panel understand patient thickness, and allow for proper xray exposure length.
