It isn't illegal in the US record calls as long as one party consents (which you would be a party to your phone conversations). Some states do require all parties to consent, but most follow the federal law that only requires one party consent.

Thought it was a good idea, then found out it is a subscription based service that is paid annually or semi annually. You don’t actually get to own the app free and clear. I am not interested in going that route on ANY app. I don’t see the need to pay for an app every year for the rest of my life. I don’t buy a car that way, why would I buy an app that way. Smart business choice on their part so long as everyone goes for it, but they shouldn't. My opinion is that everyone should let people/app designers like this go under. Don't support them.

I may have a different opinion. If the app requires routine maintenance and they are actively incorporating new features then I can see myself justifying it. In the case of call recording, Android goes out of its way to restrict call recording such that, if you do not provide an incentive to maximize support then you will find yourself with nothing. But I do agree with you in general about abusive subscription models that offers zero value beyond the initial price.

Sure those costs don't go back to the car maker but the car also costs way more upfront to last many years. Some people prefer to pay a smaller amount yearly like rent and stop paying when they stop using it. Others prefer to buy. But if buying is the only option and you use it for a month then never use it again, is that fair?

It's truly stupid that you Can't record people, because as long as you're listening to the other person, that IS a form of "recording", cause it's recording to your brain. You shouldn't need "consent" because them talking to you IS their consent. Now, it can be understandable that if you're setting up a "hidden" recording for conversations YOU aren't involved in that could be unreasonable, but even then what are Security Camera's in or outside Businesses or Homes? They often record both Video and Audio without ANYONE's "consent", so Laws against this are simply laws for criminals in government or other corrupt big institutions to get away with their crimes, to not be caught and held to account. That is their ONLY purpose, outside obvious stuff where privacy is expected like bathrooms.

I saw that changing the CSC of the phone to Thailand or a country that supports native call recorder also works. Even if it needs the firmware, ODIN to flash it - it doesn't wipe the personal data and it all works from what I saw, updates, KNOX, everything is fine. This way you can get the native one but I don't know well if anything else changes under the hood of the Android, even if it keeps all the personal data and settings.

This is what i do, I live in the UK & changed mine to TUN which is Tunisia & it works perfectly i find 3rd party call recorders have poor quality, everything works fine on my phone, software updates, KNOX, Samsung pay. I didn't need to flash any firmware via Odin, i downloaded Samfw FRP Tool for windows, and they have an option to change the CSC without root so doesn't trip Knox, they show a list of CSC that are compatible with your phone & you can do a bit of research to find out which countries allow Call Recording

Actually here in the US there are states or contextual scenarios where its legal to record. Some states its legal to record your own conversations regardless if the other knows. Also, if the conversation is with your boss/employer, then your right to record is protected by national labor+whistleblower law.

Samsung doesn't want to work. xD It's the same with the s22U. For example, in Poland the recorder must participate in the conversation to be able to record it. Instead in s22U, there is a voice recorder that allows you to record others with the screen is turned off. xDD

I think it's stupid for Samsung to disable call recordingfor the North American models for the same reason I think it would be stupid to disable texting as a whole just because it's illegal when driving.

Whats BS is there are many states in the USA that's a 1 party content for recording phone calls. This means if I enable the recording then I am the one party concenting to the phone call being recorded. Why does Samsung think this is not legal and wont allow me to do it?

Hello all, I have an s23 Ultra and Cube ACR call recording is not working - no audio on recordings. During the setup phase of Cube ACR it did not mention the App Connector (i also uninstalled and reinstalled - no luck). So i manually went to the Accessibility - Installed Apps, menu. I dont see Cube ACR even listed here? Any idea why?

In the UK all calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes when contacting,doctors, dentists,Council Departments etc.Without my permission.No excuse for Samsung to leave out the call recording function in there call settings in there UK Phones.

Another ridiculous method to enable something in the USA on my own paid-for phone. Sorry, not using third-party apps for stuff like this. Best is to root your device and gain access that way to record video and audio on calls.

I'm not sure what you mean here...this app has to have the given permissions to perform its job. It literally can't record calls without the permissions it asks for. It doesn't ask for any uneeded permissions.
