Matthew Neathery i imagine it is like that so you stop as quick as possible by the uphill slowing you even more and take off as quick as possible to stop you falling over the edge so the downhill pushes you to gain even more sped, i imagine it was designed purposely like that. :)

It a cross between KTEX and a small, steep runway in Mexico on the US/Mexican border. A pilot had a hard landing on the hill and put the wheel struts throughout the wings!

747 is a really tough and capable aircraft. 747 has a lot of reserve thrust with 4 engines and 4 thrust reversers to get it stopped for the landing. Boeing took off and landed at over 1,000,000 lbs takeoff weight with no problem in a 747.

You should have use AF702 instead of AF4590. This would have been way more logical, cus courchevel is on the CDG-ABJ route. Also AF4590 is concorde's crash. By the way I'm french. From Paris (and my hometown airport is CDG)
