Elders who beat their wives, pedos with privileges, victims being 'requested' to leave the congregation & move to another, being assaulted myself... on & on & on. "Removed"--so classic!! Any way to bump the numbers. I DO remember the 'doorstep' studies. I heard that the change in time keeping was completely removed and is now an option, but never confirmed it. Thanks for all you do!! Around the time of the pandemic, they changed the requirement that a person only had to speak to someone for 15 minutes to be counted as a regular publisher. Now they just check a box. No numbers to fill in at all. Regular pioneers used to have to be in service for 100 hours a month. Then they lowered it to 90, then 75, then 60. It might be only 50 hours a month. If they lower it to only 5 hours a month, they would brag that “we had a peak number of regular pioneers!” That’s how they inflate their figures, by lowering the requirements.

I haven't been out in service since the memorial campaign, and my group overseer still ask about my service participation. They stripped me of my privileges last year because I started growing my beard back before that update number 8. I can't do anything during the meeting, but they don't hesitate to ask for my assistance on the heating and ac on the building. These men are seriously misled by the GB.

I was in good standing but didn't care about or take on any 'privileges' though. There is a weird line where if you do the minimum they don't hassle you, they are just grateful you showed up and they don't want to scare you away. But also they know they have no power to control you if you're not submitting and reaching out. Nothing to hold against you.

You are so right on all levels. I grew up JW and remember the keeping track of every little thing, WT and Awake distributed and home Bible study lasting an hour. It was Holy Hell! Between school, meetings and witnessing. I was also the oldest of 4 kids so I was basically their stand in Mom in between. I had no childhood and I’m a Grandmother now still trying to wrap my head around my life, and how they still want nothing to do with their kids, grandkids and great grandkids. I’ve gone all Spiritual and cannot deal with religion. But it’s all good. I have raised my kids so well and am now watching my grandkids. I made my own family and they keep me going and believing in my Higher Spirit ❤😊

When I was still pioneering I partnered with a pioneering sister for a day. We started at the same time and finished service that day at the same time. She recorded 12 hours and I recorded 8. I was 100% sure we only did 8 hours of service. Since then I stopped believing the numbers. 😆🤣 I’m sure that wasn’t the only time she did that and I’m sure she’s not the only one.

Dear Beth, hello and greets from Germany where I had been a Bethelite in Wiesbaden 1967 to 1972 then Spec. Pio. with my wife for 5 years. In Bethel for the last 1,5 years I had the "priviledge" of serving in the Pioneer Department and once a month we were collecting all incoming reports and sending all branch figures off to Brooklyn headquarters. I am inactive since 2010 but still watching WTBTS's ups and downs closely, knowing that I'm in good company with Jehovah God who as we all know sees everything... I left over 15 years ago, wrote two letters to the local congregation, told the elders and everyone else I knew I was totally out and yet I am probably still numbered among them, at least on paper. If you leave without being “removed” they will say horrible things about you but still count you.

The "real feel" of the terms and conditions of the JW/Watchtower business comes down to "terminated" for DF'd or removed or excommunicated - whatever they deem it - to being "unterminated" or "rehired" instead of their socially correct term of reverse attraction marketing called "reinstated". I know somewhere here locally who was "reinstated" in the organization and she, like me, was largely by herself, no real close family, a socially outcasted person, etc., in other words a perfect target for the JW borg who view certain ones of us as "righthearted", aka in vulnerable and susceptible situations. Very good point Beth about anyone looking objectively at JW real beliefs and indoctrinated mindsets reflected in those "study editions" they have in those Sunday meetings, their "deeper" things of watchtower's real mask uncovered for the dangerous organization they really are.

How can they call that a bible study, when I was in, and married, an elder came to our house and asked if I was counting the four hours studying with our daughters and I was, then he said to my ex if he was also doing the same, he said yes. WELL, he never did, not once in.20 years study with me or our kids, never even praiseworthy me or our kids! But as he was the head of the house, he could count it, but I could not! The elders another came to talk to us, but this time it was to my ex, who at meetings had tunnel vision, it was as if we did not exist, he would be answering questions and looking really involved! But his answers were lies to me because of how he treated me. But the elders told him that they noticed that he did not help with our two little one's, and was taking care of himself but not helping with the out children. They asked him how did he think I could if he never helped me out? So he felt picked on, so he gave them an answer that was, not an answer, but a statement, that we'd that up to me? They told him not if he left it all up to me, I had a newborn, who was born early, about 6 weeks early, and she had colic, and it was the elders wife who would give me a break, and rock her. At home he would scream at me, can't you shut her up!?' Then he would leave, didn't have cell phones back then, she was born in 1983, and I never knew where he went. When I was ill, depressed, anything, he would yell at me ' don't tell me about it, go see a doctor!'. Or go take a pill! He would get angry at me for even asking him if he was going to pray with me, like the elders told him he should be doing, he would tell loudly to leave him alone because he was praying! He never did pray with me. We had friends that saw these things, and what he was like on holidays! So my friends husband would take him fishing, and corner him about how he was with me, and he would pretend to listen but

Interesting figures which kind of surprises me. It must be all cart work these days. I live in a city of about 40K people. I have lived here since 2018. I live in a populated residential neighborhood and surprisingly not one Witness has knocked on my door or walked down my street in six years. I saw a couple of Mormon's once but they seemed to be targeting a specific individual not going from door to door. The only religious person that knocked on my door was an older bearded Evangelical man. He invited me to his church down the street. I told him I couldn't open the door fully because I wasn't dressed. I was wearing a long tee shirt but I didn't see it as sufficient, but what did he do? He rudely swung the door open anyway with a big grin on his face. So that's been my experience for the past six years with religion. lol PS I'm a fader and no one knows me where I live so it's not like I was being targeted and ignored. They just haven't been door knocking for the past six years in my area and who knows how long before that?

What i remember about the memorial was that you would see newcomers on that evening and NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN. I also wrote to Bethel and asked if someone walked in on memorial night and partook of the Bread and wine would they be counted and the answer was "Yes" because we are not the Judges, so this is why they have the numbers going up not down like in the 1990s it's all just one big con.

There was a lady back in the day in my old congregation that would count bible studies in the oddest way. If she was visiting say a family of six, 2 parents 4 kids, she would count each individual person in that house as a separate bible study. Mind you this is the wife of an elder. Little things like this always made me doubt all the numbers the watchtower would brag about. And this is one of just many personal experiences I have of seeing witnesses over inflate their own service numbers over the years. What a bunch of bolagna. Glad ive been out for years.

Actually, the Society has used the term “reactivated” for decades to describe those who were no longer participating in the field service without leaving the organization and started up again after meeting with the servants. As I recall, the description takes effect with the first “Field Service Report” the individual turns in, so upon completion of the first month. But, you’re right. I don’t remember that being announced from the platform. Of course, I left July 2016, and I do know that the changes have only sped up since then.

Look it I just lost the rest of what happened to me in the new congregation and it was that one of the two people I hung out with, actually my ex did too! But he was a rapest, he liked his wife to be slim and every time she left the room he would say something to me that was sexual in nature, and he made me uncomfortable, as I had been molested for a long time by several witnesses when I was may be six, or seven, but before that it happened when I was just three and my sister and I never spoke about it till I had started counselling with a really amazing doctor! I was over 30'by then and we both knew the same story nothing was different at all. So then I told her the rest of the times and about being raped by the husband of my friend. He had planned it all out, because we had gone out to a few bars we would go to, because they would get great live bands playing playing and my husband said it was okay for me to go because her husband would be there too, but he was so wrong. We had a beer at one place but they didn't have anything playing so we headed to another place, but you know beer, we both had to use the ladies room! When we came back to our table, I thought it was strange that he was holding one and told his wife that the drink on the table was hers. But we didn't say anything

the numbers are correct, but of course the definition of active members has become more lenient (only ticking a box you preached that month). the bible studies are also probably an overlap. Publishers include als non baptized publishers. The minor ones also probably get a bible study (family study). So there should probably be some correction as well. The reinstatement figure are probably also influenced by relaxing the "excommunication" rules. All in all, their membership is pretty constant, probably by growth markets in Africa (and Asia) that compensate for dwindling numbers in the west.

The numbers are bogus. I remember you needed to have 3-4 visits with someone to count it as Bible study. I remember leaving magazines at the laundromat to start my time. The numbers on the pioneers and aux pioneers are up. Of course they are. They were loosing pioneers so what did they do?? Lower the requirement. They love numbers. I thought the great crowd could not be numbered? But they still love the numbers. I don't know if another church that takes attendance.

That's a great question, I'm glad you asked. Thank you! Why are you talking about Jehovah's Witnesses? We are supposed to be worshiping God - not spreading hate. I received my 100-fold 22 years ago, and I am always loyal to the father Jehovah God. How about you? John 14:6 says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". This verse appears in the Bible during the Last Supper, when Jesus is speaking to his disciples. You see Jesus' rulership is for a very short time. We need to learn from Jesus' example here on earth and honor Jesus' commandments so we will have access to Jehovah God, who is the ruler of the universe forever. (that's what John14:6 means). People have lost focus of the big picture. The New Testament is just a record of Jesus' life hear on Earth, that's all. So, we need to follow Jesus commandments so we will have an opportunity to live forever. John 17:3 where Jesus states, “Now this is eternal life; that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” Even Jesus Himself agrees that there is only one true God, which is not Himself, since He refers to Himself as separate and distinct from the “true God.” If we follow Jesus commandments will have a relationship with both the father and the son. Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness,” - Even Jesus Christ was a witness! Most Christian congregations don't have a relationship with God because they have rejected Jesus' New Commandments and The Lord's Prayer (they only worship the son, sports and holidays). And therefore, will not receive everlasting life. READ BELOW ↓ This is the first and greatest commandment. 1 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. 2 Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. The Lord's Prayer Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. The Lord's Prayer is very clear that the kingdom and the power and the glory belong to the father (not Jesus). Yet, most Christian congregations ignore Jesus' commandments. READ BELOW ↓ 2 John 1:9 Anyone who runs ahead without remaining in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever remains in His teaching has both the Father and the Son. Matthew 15:8,9 These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship Me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commands of men. Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. We are to pray to God, not Jesus - remember The Model Prayer. Pray like this, "Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." This is what Jesus taught, and the people in false religion hate it! We are to worship God, not Jesus, according to Jesus' New Commandments and The Model Prayer. Eph. 4:5 says there is one faith - not many. There are many religions/faiths. But only one is right. The entire Bible verifies that! All the false faiths must come up with beliefs that tickle their ears. (2 Tim. 4:3) READ BELOW ↓ John 6:43-45 43 In answer Jesus said to them: “Stop murmuring among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him; and I will resurrect him in the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by Jehovah.’ Everyone that has heard from the Father and has learned comes to me. As these scriptures bring out, 1 - No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him; 2 - 'And they will all be taught by Jehovah.' 3 - Everyone that has heard from the Father and has learned comes to me. This message is very clear, if you are not being taught by Jehovah God or his organization, you will not receive everlasting life because you do not have access to ~ Jesus Christ ~ the Faithful Witness. Even Jesus was a witness. That means you'll need a Bible with God's name restored in 6,828 places. The 'policy' used to be that your time started from when you knocked on the first door. So, if you were doing rural territory, for example, you'd get to Door 1 smartly and then you might have to drive 5 minutes with four other people to the next house. You could do an hours 'Witnessing' and only go to three doors (with nobody home !) and knock off for coffee.
