I am always very impressed when young people have figured things out at an early age. I am sixty-six years of age and was baptized at the age of fourteen. That was crucial as 1975 was approaching and the end was very near. Don't let anyone tell you that the organization was not pushing that. At the age of twenty one I was at a Watchtower study and remember the material being ridiculous, something about the blowing of horns in the book of Daniel symbolizing 20th century Jehovah's Witnesses' conventions. I had an epiphany, they were making it all up. I faded in the 80s and went through years of guilt, rejection and isolation. No internet, no way of knowing the reality of this religion. To anyone out there that might be thinking about this faith, please don't waste your precious, precious time. Thank you young lady for your insight and excellent presentation.

The 1970s end of the world alarm from the JWs was devastating for many families. They pulled the kids out of school. When A-day never came, the kids had missed their education and the opportunity to go to university. I remember there was also the A-day alarm in the 1980s. The Watchtower Society has sounded the alarm several times in their history. Does anyone remember when the JWs claimed people born around 1914 would not taste of death? When they did actually die, how did the narrative shift to account for this failed prophecy?

Oh man! Jehovah witnesses. I was a born in but I got away. But, my relatives arranged for a bible study to bring me back into the flock. So every week this older couple came and we sat around the table studying What Does The Bible Really Teach. It wasn't long before they could see I was a dead end street. I was wasting their time. They could sense that I was never going to fall into that trap. I was so relieved when they said that they couldn't continue with this bible study. I just had to be up front with my relatives. I just blearted it out. No, I will never be a Jehovah witness ever again. I really never was one to begin with. I was forced to be one by my parents. I couldn't wait to be able to get away from the cult. Now, this couple thought that I would go back to that? Not a prayer. (pardon the pun) So the couple bowed out. They left and I never seen them again. But they had it coming I believe. They had to know that they couldn't flim flam me like someone of the world. They had to know that. I had seen it all my time in the cult. All of it. False prophecies, scandals, intrusive people. I seen it all, at the kingdom hall. They had to know I couldn't be turned. But, they gave it a shot. We didn't even get halfway through that book. Them giving up on me was wonderful. I didn't want to tell them to stop coming. I didn't want to be rude. But sometimes you just have to say enough of this. Enough! I didn't have to. They did. Like i said, it was wonderful.

I am quite amused by the phrase "what the Bible really teaches". The Bible really teaches what is written in it, nothing more and nothing less. Anything that you infer, extrapolate, complement, correct, explain, or otherwise expand from the words of this or any book, is not "what the Bible really teaches". The Bible really teaches that you don't have to wash your hands before eating, for example. You really have to look into a biology book to understand that it is a good idea to wash your hands and not touch your food with your hands. What the Bible really teaches is really an incomplete and outdated view of ourselves.

This is GOOD information! I myself when I was in the org had to watch this play out firsthand. An unmarried woman was being studied with - her partner had no real interest. The elders stuck it to her bluntly, that she must not have sex with her partner of x number years, until they were legally married. (It took them several months to plan and arrange a small marriage ceremony.) Ok so firstly this makes a horrific impression on the man, who's going to lose his partner if he doesn't go along with it, and secondly, she ended up going along with it. Already out of the gates the organization is MEDDLING in this couples marriage!! This is a strong theme throughout their system of control and manipulation.

There was NO MARRAIGE to begin with . They were cohabitating , and fornicating with each other . Common law marriages are only recognized by the Law in a handful of states and they have to be qualified to be such : Example To establish a common law marriage in Texas, a couple must meet the following requirements: 1.Age: Both parties must be at least 18 years old 2.Agreement: Both parties must agree to be married, either verbally or in writing 3.Cohabitation: The couple must live together in Texas as a married couple 4.Representation: The couple must represent themselves to others as married 5.Intent: The couple must have a present, immediate, and permanent intent to be married 6.No prior marriage: Neither party can be married to anyone else 7.No familial relation: Neither party can be related to the other by blood or adoption 8.The couple can prove their agreement in a number of ways, including: 9.Using the same last name 10.Filing joint tax returns 11.Introducing each other as spouses 12.Signing leases or other documents as spouses 13.Making joint purchases 14.Including your partner on your health insurance 15.Making your partner the beneficiary of a life insurance policy 16.Making joint loan applications or agreements 17.Applying for public benefits and listing your partner as “spouse” 18.Having children together The main law governing common law marriage in Texas is Section 2.401 of the Texas Family Code. To register a common law marriage, couples can file a Declaration of Informal Marriage with their county clerk's office. They can use sample forms and instructions from TexasLawHelp.org My point is : If you want to please God , at least the Jewish one , and his son , there are requirements . And some sacrifices have to be made to get your soul in order for salvation , whatever that may be . The Bible is clear on the matter that living in Sin is condemning not just to you but those you drag down with you , if you are an active fornicator or Adulterer . So , you want to mingle with others like you , or others that are actually trying to live right . ( Your Choice - In Or out ) .

I have also heard of this happening. And I had to wonder how the elders would then know if the couple were having sex or not. I have caught them looking in my windows at night. They will even interview your neighbours.

I felt so hurt that he would tell me this, straight to my face. I didn't say anything that time, but if it was now, I would have told him to get up from the table and leave the house and to never come back again, and you will never see me at the KH ever again. The elders are so rude and unloving, it's unbelievable. They are supposed to be showing unconditional love to the sheep, but no, they back stab whenever it's convenient for them to do so.

The sister who felt uncomfortable broaching the subject that she knew by her natural instincts, was none of her business, but feeling obliged to DO it ANYWAY, is only one example how the JW rules and policies coerce the individual to ignore their own moral compass. And it doesn't stop at this: The NO-BLOOD policy, as well as the mandatory SHUNNING of anyone who doesn't tow the line as demanded by the leaders of the group, are examples, how "the best life ever" can very quickly turn into a nightmare , or worse, no life at all. Btw, I love your presentation style: Concise, very matter-of-factly, and at the same time compassionate, warm-hearted, and authentic; there is no doubt you know what you are talking about. Thank you for your excellent work 🥰.

I studied with JWs for a couple of years. I even went to some regional meetings, with the three ring circus of baptisms in the swimming pools. I never joined. What was unsettling for me was their focus on Jehovah and not Jesus Christ. Plus their version of the Bible (NWT) had key passages found in other versions deleted.
@MrRklewis16 сағат бұрын
Really. do you realize that Jesus focus was also on Jehovah and not on himself. He was always pointing up, not pointed to himself. Even saying that no one is good except God. He said that he always does the Will of God. And even after the 1000 year reign of Christ, he will subject himself back to God so that GOD may be all things to everyone. 1Cor.15:27,28 And you say that key passages are missing from our bible. Trust me, you have it all twisted. Because most bibles have taken the name Jehovah totally out of its pages. You can't get any more "Key" passages than that. And this is why people wrongly think that Jesus is God and that all focus should be on him, instead of Jehovah. Tell me, would you trust a bible that has removed Jesus name from its pages. And yet, millions of people have no problem with a bible that has removed Jehovah's name. And Jehovah knew that the devil would get his people to do this, which is why he said in the book of Ezekiel over 50 times, when talking about the end, "Then the nations will know that I am Jehovah." Before I became a JW, I went to church and they never even mentioned Jehovah. And it is still the same today. Can you imagine, the God of the universe is not even mentioned in the churches today. How twisted is that? So when did Jehovah step aside and tell Jesus to be God and to just forget about Him. It is only Jehovah's witnesses who properly worship Jehovah as the Almighty God and honor Jesus as the created Son of God. And Jesus is grateful for this as he always put Jehovah first. And so, who's example do you follow. Jesus or the world who dishonors Jehovah.

So true. When I was reproved, months after my punishment period was over, everyone in my congregation and even people in other congregation looked at me differently. One of the three elders who were on the panel of elders to reprove me, was writing everything down in a folder. I believe he shared the folder with all other elders in our congregation and even with elders in other congregations. Our hall was part of five congregations meeting in the one building. I shared my wrongdoing story with three elders, not with everyone who wanted to know what I had done. Plus, I didn't know before, but it seems that every witness has a folder or record kept on them in a secret file cabinet somewhere in the KH. Something like personal information that an HR department would have on a person at their place of employment.

But if there was no fornication involved , there would be no issue to discuss would there ? Thats the whole point . If you go to any Christian congregation and someone mentions that you live outside a marriage bond , is it accepted as being right and ok ? What kind of Church do you belong to that teaches this ? Its not one sanctioned by Christ . Grace does not cover Intentional Sin people .....Peter emphasizes the severity of the situation: “For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. People can say you’re not liable for discipline until you get baptised, but in my experience your whole life changes as soon as you accept a home bible study. The person conducting the study thinks they own you. They really believe you’re now their responsibility. They have to save you from Satan’s world and will do anything to accomplish this. The tactics they use in the real world are not discussed in their PR videos. I’m not saying many of them don’t genuinely care about you, but they get really obsessed. So you then have a person of questionable mental health stalking you to get you to conform to the Governing Body’s rules.

The new testament, from Matthew through Revelation conveys the message that THEY were living in the last days and that the end was near. "The end of all things is near"- 1 Peter 4:7 Even the book of Revelation opens up with the statement that it was a revelation of things which must SOON take place. They thought that they were living in the last days and that the time of the prophets some 1,000 to 1500 years earlier was LONG AGO. More time has elapsed since the first century to now than had elapsed from the time of the prophets to the first century. Last Days? And in 1st John it was stated that they were living within the last hour. If a day is a thousand years to God, then what is an hour? Less than 50 years. And at what time and that hour did they think they were living? Quarter past? Half past? 45 minutes past? 2 minutes to midnight? When the disciples asked Jesus what would be the signs, Jesus told them the signs and said when they see those signs they will know that he is near the door. Decades later the apostle wrote that Jesus was near the door. Again, the entire New Testament, from Matthew through Revelation conveys the message that they were living in the last days and that the end was near. Within their lifetime.

We were taught that the Bible agrees with scientific fact. Almost everyone today would agree that the Earth spins on its axis and orbits the Sun in a solar system with other planets. But the Bible teaches something completely different. On the first page of the bible, Genesis chapter 1, it says that God separated the water with an expanse. Water above the expanse and water below the expanse. To the water below the expanse, God gather to its places, so that dry land would appear in its midst- land and sea. God called the expanse heaven. So, according to the Bible's definition of Heaven, when you jump up into the air or jump off your roof you are briefly in heaven. Heaven is the airy expanse between the ocean of water above and the land and sea below. Airplanes and jets fly through heaven. The Bible mentions birds, clouds, and angels in heaven. Psalm 148 4 mentions the water above heaven. When it rains, the Bible says that is God opening up the floodgates of Heaven... Obviously to let some of that water above heaven rain down upon us. When the Israelites burnt the sacrificial animals upon the altar, the smoke was said to rise as a sweet smell to God. Genesis chapter 1 goes on to state that God created two great lights, one for day and one for night and also the stars, and he placed them IN THE EXPANSE. It further states that he created birds the fly across the expanse. There was no knowledge of the Earth rotating on its axis or orbiting the Sun in a solar system with other planets. There was no knowledge of planets, any lights in the sky other than the Sun and Moon were known as stars... All of which were seen simply as lights in the sky like lamps placed there by God. This is also proven by the account in Joshua where Joshua tells the sun to stand still so that he can fight in daylight. So when you go outside on a clear day and look up and see all that blue, keep in mind that the Bible writers thought that was an ocean of water up there above the birds, clouds, angels, God, sun, moon and stars.

BUT, in all bibles it clearly states of sex outside of marriage being a sin and the road to life narrow and difficult, as the road to destruction is broad and spacious and all can make decision upon which side they choose. When it comes to God, he of course is beyond the worldly legal system! I have had a very challenging life with major digestive issues as well as being a caregiver under immense stress that in itself nearly had put me in the grave. I take in the zoom meetings, though I do not engage in a one and one personal study and though I occasionally am asked of having such, never am I pressured, instead am shown encouragement to continue to focus forward on living a clean life, now whatever religion one might be associated with, clean living is clearly exalted, whereas a worldly mindset has one desiring to take in all that one might please even when unfavorable to God. Our conduct is NOT about what WE please, but instead of what God wishes from US!

As always the goal is to get a person to be baptised then they can exert pressure to commit body and soul to the organization.Most people do not know that when they become JW their whole existance will be controlled and determined by this cult .
