Fun fact: Prior to this Quest, the night after Furina settled in her new home (staring at the ceiling the whole afternoon and not unpacking), Chlorinde paid a visit just to check on Furina's situation. After seeing the pitiful situation of Furina, Chlorinde said that she'll have a get together with some old colleagues and invited Furina along Furina easily got drunk that night just after a few drinks. She even tried standing high and mighty on the table, but Chlorinde had to stop her.

Idk why Kage was under the impression that the Traveler and Furina were friends before her story quest. Prior to Furina's Story Quest the Traveler and Furina had only ever spoken to or even been around each other for at least 5 times. 1 Is when the Traveler and Paimon first arrived on Fontaine and almost got taken to court under false charges, 2 is when they faced each other in the court and Furina ended up totally humiliated in front of her people, 3 is when Traveler kept Furina company during one of her meetings with The Knave, 4 is when the Traveler spoke with Furina in Poisson and 5 is when they faced each other in court during Furina's trial after getting betrayed after she finally started opening up her heart to someone. Honestly considering all that happened between them I think it would have been weird if they had been friends before her story quest. It would have especially been difficult for them to have become friends prior to this quest because Furina on her part wasn't exactly being honest and was pretending to be something she wasn't which would have definitely prevented her from forming any meaningful relationships with the Traveler and Paimon. Luckily she's in a better place now in her life, she deserves ALL the hugs.

I'ma be real here, but I really love this Story Quest, I do. I also do agree that the 1st half of the story is butchered up and should have been a little better. However, it still has a proper ending for Furina. There was also this one quote I can recall, "Performing can have two meanings, 'acting' and 'expressing'. That's what Furina's story theme is all about. Hoyo tried to make a life lesson about not locking yourself away, and it's okay to step away from your comfort zone to show the world to EXPRESS your true feelings. Thus, completing the cycle of Furina's arc for herself. Sorry if my comment has dragged on a bit much, but I feel like I had to get this out there, so others can understand the bright side of this outcome.

I really liked this story quest - on top of the whole Musical thing that Genshin does so awesomely, I was in a drama club back in my high school years so the the whole drama backstage and setting it aside for performing type deal is something I can relate to. Also the fontaine archon quest didn't feel like it brought a conclusion to Furina's character arc so I'm glad that her story quest felt like a proper conclusion to it.

i think lots of people hate Vilmant unnecessarily, i know he did a mistake of agreeing to the sponsorship. but how would he ever know they are people that murder young women? he's a genuine and a true to life person than anyone in the troupe. Also him not telling his troupe mates was the best scenario because they would've definitely ran into danger and have themselves all killed. He did a mistake but also tried to fix it by listening to the director instructions. He by no means is related to the culprits nor was he a villain as his role in the show and he definitely doesn't deserve to be arrested either because he didn't do anything wrong in the sense of killing people. At least that's how i look at it xd

If you rewatch the part where she talks to mirror me, all her memories are foggy but she only remember certain things left behind. "In order to fool the heavenly principles, you must first fool yourself." The Indemnitum gathered was used to power the city and destroy the divine throne to save the people. Furina/Focalors truly sacrificed everything to save the people of Fontaine.

The Archons are required to give them out, even though they have no idea who is receiving them, but now that Neuvillette has regained his authority, he doesn’t have to follow that rule. Instead, he chose to give Furina a Vision as a reward for her years of service and sacrifice for the good of Fontaine. Furina’s Vision even has unique “claw” accents along the outside of the casing, showing that it came from a dragon sovereign.

But even so, she has been driven by raw duty for 500 years, so it makes sense she would develop those tendencies. As for everyone outside the main Fontaine cast, they all believe that Furina was the actual god, but used up her power to save everyone, which means that they would believe she could've done something to save Poisson.

The people there don’t know that her pretending was what kept them alive for so long, besides Furina feels indirectly guilty because she has promised them to trust her as the archon and they shall all be saved, which obviously didn’t happen. Now we know she was forced to make that promise but still, if you were in her shoes wouldn’t you feel guilty as well? Also people during disasters have a grief struck mentality, after grief passes it’s natural for people to look for something or someone to blame particularly in events in which they’ve lost their families and loved ones, in this case it’s completely natural for them to blame the god whom they trusted on why she couldn’t save them sooner and prevented the disaster. Is it logical? No but it’s realistic and natural in situations like these. Also one more thing: Furina did do something incredibly wrong and stupid that warranted further hate on her and please hear me out: While it’s true she couldn’t prevent the disaster on Poisson she also didn’t do anything meaningful after the disaster. She didn’t send aid in her name immediately after the shock, she didn’t deliver any speeches regarding the issue nor released any official statement expressing any form of grief or condolences. In fact immediately after Neuvillette told her about the tragedy she immediately left and was seen in the Opera house watching an Opera like a whole town didn’t just go through a tragic disaster. Again, she isn’t to blame for not stopping the primordial seawater from flooding to Poisson, but man her actions afterwards are extremely poor PR move on her part.

honestly while she was working hard and I love furina, there IS stuff she couldve done. like what neuvi and arle mentioned in the archon quest, she couldve had contingency plans for IF somewhere got flooded or emergency evacuation plans (as opposed to poisson having to do their own which got melus and silver killed), and while that is a lot of work to implement furina had 500 years to think it over or order OTHERS to do. I understand why she didnt ofc and I cant say I wouldve been perfect in that position either but there is precedent for her blaming herself or others thinking she couldve done more, because she couldve. teyvat in general doesnt seem to even have a baseline for safety measures like that but the fact it was brought up does suggest some knowledge of disaster management. again, I really dont blame furina! I think she was working really hard and trying her best! I also think there is some conversation to be had about this and even though she couldnt stop the floods there are other plans and measures one can take in these situations! esp if you have prior knowledge of it happening. after the initial poisson incident it wouldve been the second best time to implement safety measures or appoint someone to, instead of hoping on a miracle. furina obviously wasnt in the best headspace at that time though and I definitely think 500 years of constant acting had worn her down completely at that point. when she was investigating in the beginning and saw the water levels rising it wouldve been a great time to do it but even the research institute, who was working on the rising sea levels, didnt seem to think about creating a contingency plan...? so I am a bit confused on how teyvatians see these issues and I dont understand why arle or neuvi didnt do it either?

It's more or less said in his profile under vision. "From that day on, whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift. Though they might know nothing of who or what wish had stepped into the threshold of the sacred, the Seven Archons still had to impart a shattered shard of their mastery to that person. And when one so gifted completed their duty... the gift the gods would receive in return would be more abundant still. Neuvillette obeys no edict from the heavens, but he does acknowledge human will. So he too set aside parts of himself, as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them." And if you look at Furina's vision you can see it's slightly different in design compared to previous visions. I mean just look at how some western audiences reacted IRL to The Divine Damsel of Devastation to get an idea of how culture shock would probably go. Plus I don't know how they would do this since Liyue isn't exactly next door. "Sure dude, you got a show in a month? Now... gonna need some Mora for the trip, nothing much, half a million should suffice. Also to pay my famous opera singer friend for the several months of absence she'll be taking from her arranged shows, gonna need a couple of million too. Don't forget my commission!" Teleportation is not canon to the story afaik, it's just a convenience for us. Travel takes time, as does commissioning a national star. Of course the writer doesn't need to take any of this into account, but the writer also needs to write the story about Furina so there's a bit of a conflict involving a completely different character for no apparent reason.

My only problem with her story quest was the beginning because of Furina herself. Now looking at it retrospectively, Furina assumed how people will view her negatively for asking for assistance despite not have any proof to back up her assumptions, even assuming that she was being demanded to change her personal identity when no one was asking that of her, getting angry when asked for suggestions of anyone else to seek aid from that isn't her, even forcing herself to not to do the very thing she loves doing the most. This doesn't mean I was angry with Furina, just disliked how she handled herself in that moment. So when i see people claim that she was forced and gaslight into helping from streamers to new furina stans, i roll my eyes because i know none of them used any critical reading comprehension when making these bold emotionally driven misinformed claims of her story quest.

Agree. Like it's obviously Furina needed a push. Someone to snap her out of self pity or assumption. Even Navia said it's pointless to dwell on the past. Maybe I'm not a Furina simp nor do I baby her hence why I don't see her being 'treated disrespectfully' in her SQ.

I have to disagree because literally in that same engagement between her and the traveler, every negative sentence she said she always apologized for it the next sentence. Even when the traveler said she shouldn't assume the worst of people she said "i know". She is aware that what she said and felt of people was wrong, but she has the right to do so because: 1. She's been acting to be high and mighty for a long time (unlike her true self) and as she said it made a mark on her that is hard to change. 2. the way she handled herself there is what a human would do, especially when now people look down on her for her inaction. 3. Lets say she was wrong of assuming the worst of people because "they are nice people" then why weren't they there for her when she was down and alone after the whole ordeal? if they weren't then ofc as a human being she would have to think they would reject her or have ill thoughts about her. that's just my opinion in my prospective to the whole story. its really not a misconception by people misinterpreting the dialog but more like in her story quest the story is trying to show Furina's faulty and normal human behavior that some people forget to notice, she wasn't and shouldn't have been a perfect person there in the first place regardless how people want her to behave in that situation.

Gaslit is also just not an applicable word here, and it's diluting the word to the point that actual gaslighting will be hard to call out. Gaslighting is making a person question their sanity/perception, such as telling them something they saw was not there. No one was remotely doing that here.

Kids in the comments still flipping over Paimon I see. Some patients I saw elsewhere were getting triggered even over "Did you just woke up?" Paimon's line in movie event. I meant I get that players sympathize with Furina, but goddamn.
