Practicing gojachaegi (Korean khatra) on my Jeil / Cheil JMG JuMongGung.
Initially my shots would be inconsistent whenever I tried any change to my release but I'm happy with how it's going.
In my early videos my release hand would be jerky, moving out and down. I am now trying to follow through with the pull naturally.
My bow hand is also more relaxed, only applying a bit of torque, but then letting the bow move freely.
For me, engaging good back tension was key in this transition. This only started to happen when I moved to the stronger 50# and 60# bows at 28 inches.
I am also happy with the full draw on my 35" arrows (pink). The bow looks almost like a Gakgung at this draw length. A "Square" bow shape appears. I think this is where the Jeil excels in flexibility.
On this occasion I am not particularly aiming for accuracy, just consistency of release and shot process. My only concern is that the arrows land safely in the boss. in my opinion, repetition and muscle memory bring accuracy without having to think too much about it.
Thank you for watching.
