It was "fear and danger", I wrote about the two sides to Jekyll's house and good and evil and how it went against Victorians thinking which created fear. Also, I wrote about the "Caper" and talked about how Enfield is more evil than Hyde and tried to link it to danger (honestly can't remember what I put) and then obviously wrote a lot about Darwin's theory, I don't know if this was the best idea and I want your opinion on if this all would get marks.

I personally disagree that Mr Hyde does not have intention to deliberatly hurt her. "Trampled" describes a powerful relentless action and has connotations of herds of animals stampeding and trampling with an unstoppable force. However as it is juxtaposed with the adverb "calmly", it suggests that Hyde has no compulsion over harming the child therefore forgrounding how callous he is. This brutal incident foreshadows the violence and evil that Hyde continous to display throughout the novel. How can I fit in context and writers intentions in this analysis?
@ppsword80464 ай бұрын
it shows his violence so you can just link it to the christian audience's judgement on how anything ugly was evil (im not sure about this)
@ppsword80464 ай бұрын
if you dont know its called the lombroso theory where they believe that your appearance dictated whether or not you're evil (he has traits of being troglodytic and is short in stature which is one of the points of being evil, and physiognomy says that your apperance shows your personality)

i would love a question on evil, its easy to talk about all the characters, however i have a strong feeling that mr utterson could come up, which would be really good too since you can talk about hypocrisy and secrecy/homosexuality. either way i love jekyll and hyde and i get grade 9s so i should be good no matter what + i followed all of your guides/videos to get the best quote analysis's! thank you Mr Salles you are a savior

Hi sir! Could you say that since Hyde is constantly referred to with religious imagery even though he is a scientific creature considered an “ape” compared to the modern man that society naturally downplays the effects of science/ are fearful of it. However, Stevenson alternatively showcases that scientists like Landon and Jekyll have their own flaws so the fears of the society, and thus the reader as well, are unfounded? idk if that makes complete sense, would that work?

I'll be honest i don't think it's that deep didn't he write the book on a 3 day morphine binge Stevenson was never an atheist. At most, he became a skeptic of his branch of organised religion: February 15, 1878, the 27-year-old wrote to his father and stated: Christianity is among other things, a very wise, noble and strange doctrine of life
