I don't think enough people have mentioned the handling of Sympathy Tenderness Reprise here; especially the lines leading up to it. I feel like too many actors try to make the lines all frenzied and full of rage, so I like that this one has a very controlled tone. That's scarier, because you can tell that while he's angry, he's also very calculated. When an actor yells, it's all emotion, but here, since he's not yelling, you can tell that his mind is racing, and it's so disconcerting wondering what he's going to do next. Basically, I like the delivery. A lot.

i like this version of "the confrontation" better than professional versions because instead of doing the half face switch thing, it's confusing and doesn't look as realistic a struggle for Jekyll. This version is awesome, and the actor's voice is amazing!

I loved the body language in this, as opposed to the single stance as seen in other performances, not awkward by any means and it shows a real struggle with the character

I've never found a Jekyll/Hyde that I really like. Nobody has ever done it for me....until now. I really enjoyed your performance! You create a strong distinction between Jekyll and Hyde, which is a hard thing to do. You were truly amazing! In my eyes, you've beaten any professional singer I've seen in the role!

This was utterly mind-blowing! Honestly, I just loved what you did here. Swapping Lucy's song for your own and then slashing her jugular with Hyde's gleaming blade of steal! Excellent, BRAVO, well-done!

2:34-2:42 what an amazing evil Hyde laugh! Brent deserves to be on Broadway!

My theory is that the confrontation scene is actually just Jekyll trying to break his addiction to the drug, but being unable to resist its temptation, even when he knows it's wrong.

Yes!! One of the MUCH better confrontations by a student on the educational level or comm theatre!!!!! Cause heaven knows I've seen some TERRIBLE productions by schools or comm theatres, you pulled this off quite wonderfully!!! I def loved the ways you showed the differences between them, both in vocal mannerisms AND body mannerisms, those are the ket to this b**** of a role, and I hope you get to do it again one day!!

So this performance is amazing. You kept up so well with the two characters and the voices and it was absolutely beautiful wow just amazing. I'm absolutely stunned by your performance, especially of this song. All I can say is wow. Wow

Never seen ANY Confrontation come close to this! Your performance is better than any Broadway version I have seen. You belong on Broadway so all can experience your amazing talent! Bravo!

I noticed that you almost went to the lyrics for "Alive Reprise" ther enear the end hahaha. I do that all the time when I (attempt to) sing this. The recurring melodies throughout this show make it pretty hard not to get mixed up. Anyway, great job!! I really enjoyed the way you used body language to show the struggle between the two. I liked how you guys had Jekyll trying to kill himself throughout the song. It really worked well!

Seeing this performance it makes me frustrated how underrated J&H is. The aesthetic here is super great ! This is what I’m looking for. And the acting is good wth. No weird props or costumes or anything. It’s genuine. I want to buy an official filmed version of this. May someone produce it, I’ll give my salary for it damnit

Your transformation. Seriously. Chills. That was epic. Otheriwse, I LOVE the changes to The Confrontation. When I first only heard the song with no visual, long before I knew the plot of the show, that's exactly how I imagined it being played out, with all the mirrors and light changes. I actually prefer it to the way they do it on professionally! Very, very good! You've got an awesome future ahead!

Do you think the woman owning the brothel was a little confused. "Sir, why are you running?" "Sir, you have something on your shirt--" "I don't even remember you coming in here" "Are you going to pay or something" "Okay well uh bye Sir I guess"

Dude, you are a thousand times better than this Hasselhoff guy :) As the youtubers before me said, this production (and especially your Jekyll/Hyde) is simply amazing. You two sing like pros, and I like how you do the "switches" between the two personalities, incredibly authentic! ^^

I have tix to Jekyll & Hyde at the Pantages next year. You may have ruined it for me - I'll have to come back to one of your videos and let you know if the guy who plays Jekyll/Hyde comes close to matching your performance. I hope that I'll have a chance to see you on stage again. You were great as Mitch Mahoney - but this is outstanding.

I really enjoyed this! I have seen several other versions of the song and they are all good but this one was up in my top five so far just below The King’s Academy 2020 version. I have been trying my best to sing this song on my own and I’m mostly stuck on how to do Hyde’s part. I tried crouching down low and hair loose a bit but I’m not sure what to do for my voice I can’t do the deep voice but I’m not sure what else to try for that part. Do you have any advice?

why did hyde kill lucy, (i barley heared the talking) and was it hyde that went: "OMG i killed lucy!!!" or was it jekyll?

@KingNazaru9 жыл бұрын
shadow strike Well thats hard since Anthony Warlow still is the best so far. Every other singer either has been decent like Chuck Wagner or Brent here or just plain awful like Sebastian Baach. The other singers need to up their game .

Clearly you must come from a parallel universe because Sebastian was terrible. Especially in the confrontation song. He sounded like a banshee with a sore throat.
