I don't know what it is about him, but Gregorio looks and sounds more sinister in this scene this time around than last time. And Olivia really sounded terrified.

Rachel Wallace Doak I think he has had more time to get his voice sounding more sinister it takes a lot of practice I believe to get it that deep and menacing. Olivia always pulls out all of the stops no matter what kind of character she plays.

I think the fact she really seemed terrified, more then before, she pushed along his performance. They work well as a team I think.

And I think Gregorio sounds even scarier than the Broadway Hydes (given that he looks so decently dressed while they look so haggard)

Him smiling while she's terrified makes his character even creepier . Great acting!!👍👍👍🥰🥰

Her acting is absolutely PHENOMENAL! This scene never fails to make me cry, I swear to god. The motif of A New Life makes it so much more heart-wrenching.

Oh my goodness I'm so glad I'm not the only nerd here who noticed the absolutely devastating motif

That was genuinely terrifying. Great job!

The two actors feed off each other really well in this performance. It is a lot better than most productions of the show that I have seen on KZbin. Do you notice that in this performance, he is speaking in his natural accent? This is a metaphor for the true nature of mankind and it works brilliant here

they were both wonderful. They both need to be on broadway. Not only is he talented and has an amazing voice but those looks. so handsome.

A lot to unpack in this scene. It might be one of the cleverest ways to show irony through a reprise. As @Suzanne Rider pointed out in another video, Hyde is using Lucy’s song that she sang about Jekyll, against her. She asks Hyde “You know Dr. Jekyll?" and then at 2:05, you can see she starts to realize that Doctor Jekyll is in fact, Mr. Hyde. The man who offered to be her friend even when they were opposites on the social class spectrum. The man who gently tended to her wound is revealed to be the monster who is a danger to her life. I think the amount of betrayal and fear she must have felt can be thought of as similar, if not more, to that of Anna by Hans from Frozen (“If only there was someone out there who loved you”). I think this scene is quite underrated compared to the other numbers, partially understandable because it’s quite disturbing and uncomfortable to watch. And Gregorio’s acting/delivery here may be his finest, imo. The guy seldom needed to raise his voice while speaking but rather mixes in speaking softly with a clear menacing tone. Contrast this to his soft and gentle demeanor in Lucy’s Sympathy and Tenderness number and he’s that more terrifying. The way he taints and the way he asks Lucy, almost rhetorically, “You wouldn’t leave the City without saying goodbye, would you?”, pauses for Lucy’s answer, and quickly snaps back at her was great delivery. Then the suspense and cruelness when he sings her song, his hand holding her neck first, then partially covering her mouth/face, and finally revealing the knife while singing “Goodness and sweetness and kindness” with crazy eyes. Brilliant scene all around.

Note to self: Don't watch this late at night. Been there, done that! These days, I regret it entirely. Why? Because he's terrifying.

Oh good, now I don't know if I ship Hyde with Lucy or if I ship him with Emma. Awesome 👌 Besides that, I need another musical with Gregorio and Olivia as the main couple, please.

Jekyll with Emma, Hyde with Lucy… I could see them doing Phantom of the Opera

Do you think Hyde went there to kill her or her decided to to punish Jekyll for trying to save her after he saw the letter?
@suzannerider94604 жыл бұрын
Basically, he is jealous of Jekyll,. Despite them being the same person, the evil side of the main character is completely taking over. Jekyll, without realising it, is letting his demons win. That's why he kills Lucy.
