He ended up killing quite a few people and eventually becoming Hyde in appearance but with his own mind, and started seeing Hyde in every mirror. Jekyll eventually dies from consuming the formula he created to excess, and he died as Hyde.

This is how it should've ended: After Hyde started to do some killings, the sun rose up. Hyde changes back to Jekyll. Before Lucy arrives at Jekyll's house. Jekyll wanted to know what happened last night. Lucy knocks on the door. Jekyll opens the door and sees she is hurt. After Jekyll fixes the wound. Now he really wants to know what happened, so he asks her what happened. Lucy tells Jekyll about Mr Hyde and that he attacked her. Jekyll was then mysterious and decided to find out what went wrong. That night, Jekyll tries to found what went wrong. After he found what went wrong, he realized that they were right, it was a bad idea. Jekyll clenches his fist and rips the pages of the experiment and decided to cancel it. And that was the end of Mr Hyde. One month later Jekyll and Lucy were married and they lived happily ever after. THE END

I’m with you. I love Lucy, more than Lisa, personally, but Lisa is also an admirable, strong character, and I think I actually prefer her with Henry. I think, if I was to pick an alternative happy ending, Henry and Lucy would stay friends, Lucy would get the new life she wanted and find someone who wanted only her and who wasn’t already attached to someone (because that’s a sucky situation that no one deserves), and Henry and Lisa would marry happily. Because Lisa knows him from the beginning, for all that he is as Henry Jekyll, and she loves that. She trusts and sticks with him through all the secrecy and the intruding of others. I like Lucy as a person, to the point of her being my favorite, but because of that, I think she deserves better than a man who already loves someone else. Sigh... RIP, Lisa’s happiness, Lucy, and my heart T-T

Like the only development Lisa/Emma got in the entire musical is gaining her respect and independence from her father and even then she barely had enough screen time to allow us to support her relationship with Jekyll other than that she'll support him no matter what which is great and all but Lucy had more screen time, was more of a tragic character that you wanted to support due to how hopeful she was that being in love with Jekyll will solve her problems. Fuck man the musical woulda been better if they gave more depth to Lisa/Emma or removed the girl entirely and kept the Jekyll,Lucy,Hyde love triangle

This is so sweet and soft. ❤ Though I do believe Emma(or, well, "Lisa" in this version) truly loves Henry, and he her, I've always adored how tender his relationship with Lucy is. He's the reason she starts to believe that genuine kindness exists, he helps her and asks for nothing in return, and she takes comfort in knowing that. It's actually ironic that this is what initially draws her to him, given that she starts pining for him immediately afterward. I don't know how many people here have seen the show (in any form), but in the version that I've seen, Lucy is actually quite reserved with her feelings for Jekyll. She flirts, but only playfully, and any longing is expressed in private. Henry never really knows that Lucy loves him, but he has a deep sympathy for her (and obviously, a deep attraction, which is emphasized through Hyde's interactions with her.) He mostly wants to protect her, that's why he gives her the note telling her to leave and start over with a new life. It's sad, but also really beautiful in a way. Because although they never get together (for a multitude of reasons), he does in fact help her to "start anew" in a sense. He makes her feel loved, if just briefly. Anyway, I've gotten off on a tangent, but - I adore your J&H animatics. And this one, especially, is just incredibly beautiful and touching.

Thank you! As someone who likes both Lisa and Lucy it's disheartening to constantly see Lisa thrown away and forgotten. I think both serve nice roles in the story, but ultimately I don't think Jekyll felt the same way for Lucy as Lisa. Maybe something was there that got expressed in Hyde, and I'm damn certain that "It's a dangerous game" is Hyde in control based on multiple things

To be honest, Lisa is such a nonentity of a character, you could probably just remove her from the show, have Lucy serve as the main love interest, and the story would be more tightly plotted.

No way! She's a huuuge emotional backbone for the show. You'd lose all the emotion that comes with Once Upon a Dream without her, and everything it represents. She's the one who truly makes this story tragic; if you think about it and look at those versions where Hyde doesn't kill Stride at the wedding, she'll probably be forced to marry him after Jekyll's death. Her existence makes the entire show a true horror by giving tragedy to the ending.

Coral Roper From what I've seen of her other videos, the artist usually takes the songs and creates her own spin to the story they came from. So it's not too hard to believe that she would mix up the songs a bit to make them work for the story she wants to tell. Odds are, this is going to end differently from the musical.

Marilyn Monroe once got mistaken for a random girl on the street just because she changed her pace and posture. One of my friends in high-school was once mistaken for a new transfer, just because it was the first day he came to class without his thick-brimmed glasses. It's not a stretch, then, that Lucy would see Jekyll (an eloquent, well-dressed gentleman) and Hyde (a gruff, scruffy and lustful man) as two different individuals entirely. The way they speak, dress, act, move, sound and behave is completely different. Why *wouldn't* she think they're two different people?
